Ok, I only knew the forum one, the grease one, & the hair one. I generally regard show tunes as novelty music. A failing of mine, no doubt.
So, you had a hard sell with me on this one.
However, I had no problems playing this in one sitting. No trouble with the hour & a half, either.
You did a great job of selection, & passaging.
I liked it best in surround sound, although stereo was great, too.
I’m still surprised I enjoyed this so much. It was a treat to hear something so different from all the EDM, & bootlegs I hear.
Youse done great, ya mug. Thanks.
Konrad, you’re the BOMB. Thanks for giving it a listen. I must say that I too use to see Show-tunes in the same light as you. And over all, they probably are mostly just novelty and/or pop tunes. But after personally taking part in a hand-full of productions, I was left with a different impression of “Musicals”. As a style, contemporary “Musicals” are exploring more and more other music genres outside of popular music. Rock, Reggae, Soul, Hip-hop, and “bits” of Techno here and there. Check out Repo! The Genetic Opera soundtrack and you’ll see what I mean. A crazy thought: (working tittle) Wax Trax! Records, the musical. Crazy right? Thanks again, konrad. Peace.
