glad you all enjoyed – this took a long time to put together and to get all the samples right. Theme’s wrapped around life and living and stuff – I think we cracked it.
yeah – fantastic mix you guys! sounds like you’re going to have to re-stock the sample bank – loved all them samples — I’ve been stockpiling too! I’ll give this some love on the Megatrip blog in a minute.
Cheers to all involved for the great mix, ta King Megatrip for link… Big THANKS to the Collective for bringin some artists to my attention… Respect to the Hicks
Wow guys, as our previous correspondent stated, CLASSY !!!
This is SO good. 🙂 Got me thinkin about sunny places, warmth, indeed it got me checkin out the place we are re-visitin in May on Google Earth fer chrissake !!
This mix is SOOO goin with us, for villa poolside chillin.
On rare occasions in the past I’ve used the phrase “the soundtrack to a movie thats never been made”.
This mix hits that note. Just lovely, with different moods, but all of them wonderfully laid right back.
And all the while, the sampled vox tellin a story.
Thanks fellas. What a wonderful start to another year on the b0x ?
Thanks trap.track, that really means a lot. So much went into this mix by way of themes, samples, tune selections and wordplay that it’s great to know how much you appreciate it.
This is such a b00mb0x classic, you’ve really knocked it out of the park here. Great mellow tunes without being dull standard downtempo fare. Atmospheric vibes throughout and really good spoken word. Just my thing.
Was late getting on to this one but have listened like 4 times in as many days now.
Did I mention that I love it? I’m not sure if that’s coming across from my comments 🙂
Couldn’t sleep so I got up at 5am this morning and thought I’d search for a chillout mix…
TBH, if someone told me that this was bought from HMV / Amazon etc I’d have believed them, it was that good and professionally produced.
Really did make me sit and just listen to it. This is an ‘argument’ mix…..i.e. so captivating that I’d stop talking mid-sentence or just totally ignore Dangerspouse to listen to it, and then an argument would ensue…. 😉
Notwithstanding the possible argument, I’m sure that Dangerspouse will thoroughly approve too…thanks Len & Mark
I just wanted to say that I listen to this mix more than any other and love listening to it from start to finish. I play it virtually every day when I am at work.
The choice of samples and tracks is perfectly judged and it is a perfect example of what a mix should be – the sum being so much greater than the parts.
The only other mix I enjoy listening to even vaguely as much is Coldcut’s 70 Minutes of Madness, and I prefer this mix because it flows in such a congruent way.
Spirituality and raising consciousness (Eckhart Tolle etc) is something that seems to be increasingly popular in this day and age.
I really do hope you make a follow up. If it comes even close to this it will be another work of genius.
Bit late to catch on but yessss… This is the dog’s danglers.
Don’t seem to be able to download the accompanying image file for this or others and used to be able to before I registered (which I did in case that was the problem.
I tried with Firefox/Chrome/Explorer on different machines running on W7 W10 and Linux Mint.
And yes… I tried ‘Right Click’ save which was not an option for me anywhere.
I must be doing something super-retarded :/
…and I just noticed what it is. The image is embedded in the track innit? I don’t think it was before when I came here. So I guess no need to d/l it separately any more

Hell yeah, Bill Hicks!
Great mix! Now I know where Sour Times sample comes from. As always, a killer ride with curves at every new track.
glad you all enjoyed – this took a long time to put together and to get all the samples right. Theme’s wrapped around life and living and stuff – I think we cracked it.
Enjoy the Ride people – this project has been a labour of love for far too long now. Need to restock the sample bank for the next journey…
A most wonderful and didactic ride! Peace.

Thanks Firestopper, and everyone else.
After all the work that went into this mix it’s great to know it’s appreciated and is illuminating different corners of the world.

For those that enjoyed this ride, I’d also recommend checking out this other classic mix:

Thanks again Collective.
(Also, thanks to Warvadal – I now know what “didactic” means)
Ed – thanks for your very kind words – if people think its half as good as good evening, I’d be very proud indeed.
Cheers Ed, glad you enjoyed the Ride.
And to echo Len’s comments – “Godless Sodomites” is a classic, we’re not worthy, etc.
“…coming into being, evolving and perishing…” I lost track of how old I was listening to this. Lovely.
Couldn’t sleep so I got up at 5am this morning and thought I’d search for a chillout mix…

Nice one trap.track. We’re going to make a follow up sometime when we get a chance.
