As last months collection of covers worked out nicely (IMHO) and caused a little polarisation of opinion i thought i’d offer up another serving of obscure covers this month. Hope you enjoy/hate!! 🙂
tina turner – unfinished sympathy? My curiousity is going to get the better of my taste, against my better judgement
i think i can say that the stranglers – walk on by is proberly my favourite cover ever
I love cover versions… and this looks interesting.
i was right – this is a terrible cover – mudered! haha
He he, love the intro to the Easystar Allstars track!
A grand collection of choons senor!!
Ta very much.
🙂
yup, classic intro! thanks for the props firestopper. glad your curiosity made ya listen lenodd. 🙂
Yep, I luv a good cover (and a bad one!). D/l now. Doubt I’ll get to the end though, can’t bear the Housemartins… cheers hp 🙂
had a proper listen now – still hate the tina turner 😀
some good stuff, some not my taste but the missus sang along and the nipper nodded his head
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would – only the Blur track and that awful Dexy’s cover grated with me. Hadn’t heard the Stranglers’ one, but can see what you mean bong.
As a huge covers fan this was right up my strasse. A few gems: Walk On By (obviously), Rock The Casbah and Oliver’s Army.
That said I’d prefer not to have been reminded of Fine Young Cannibal’s massacre of Ever Fallen In Love, and Tina’s warblings, but I guess it’s a love/hate thing.
