This was a joint effort with my good lady wife. Not real mixing to speak of as it is more of blend with a load of tunes that make us smile.
great blend 🙂 Enjoyed the lazy after noon feel. 15. Pyeng Threadgill – Close To Me, this Cure remake was just lovely! Track 15 was the highlight of the mix for me 🙂 Tiny Dancer I could have done without though 😉 Oh, and The Staunten Lick is an old favorite of mine. I really wish Lemon Jelly would put out more music! I just love them!!! Peace
Don’t we all wish Lemon Jelly would put out more music 😈 ? I agree with Mr. GC about Tiny Dancer too. Overall this is a bit of a mixed bag for me, some of it I love, some is not my cup of tea at all. “Good Disease” is a great track that almost made it onto my last mix but didn’t quite fit, but I think my fave here is “Reach Out”, a bit of an overlooked classic imo, those gospel vocals give me goosebumps. Other tracks that made me smile were 6, 7 & 8 – how does a song whose hookline is “we are f*cking up our lives today” manage to be soooo uplifting?
Very smiley saturday afternoon music, and got the thumbs up from my missus too!
Particularly enjoyed 1,3,8,11,15, and 18 😆 Normally I would be suing for violation at being caught off guard by both Elton & U2 but on this occasion, given the circumstances, and given the exemplary company they are in, I will forgive you. 8)
took this mix with my Iriver and a nice beach chair down to the lake over Labor Day… just sat there and absorbed it — very nice blend — I liked a bunch of it — the james brown track from the Blues Brothers soundtrack! (what memories of youth this conjured!)…
and hell, I like ‘tiny dancer’ too…
made me think of making a “Smile vol.2” with my girlfriend — but we’ll see…

Glad you liked it. It was my wife’s idea, and as she can’t mix we sort of blended the tunes.
I’ll pass on the lovely comments..

tiny dancer makes us lol, it’s one of our fave taking the piss tunes 😈
Ha ha ha, I’ll keep that quiet from the missus…..
GC, that ‘Close To Me’ cover was quite contentious. ‘spouse loves the original and I love this cover version, she almost made me take it out!
I guess that this was always gonna be a hit & miss for most with some ‘borderline’ tunes.
Len, we’re glad ya liked it. Just a bit of fun really with nothing too serious. 😀
You guys have great taste. Very cool you share this interest.
Cheers Briscoe! We’ve both got very eclectic taste and with our combined musical tastes there isn’t much left that we don’t like.
It does help that my wife shares my musical passion, with circa 2,300 CD’s (and growing) scattered around the house she needs to be understanding!!

Good job, nice flow, very well put together with nice blends and what a way to end, Sunscreen makes me think & smile, smile & think every time.
Good one. 8)
Pleasant feel to this Mr & Mrs mix. Are there any other celebrity couples out there 🙂
Good Disease is a great tune.
Cheers Ken. 🙂 Good Disease is a great tune!

thanks stu!
Glad you liked it Matt, I’d be interested in your take on ‘Smile’; it’s so personal that it would be very interesting to see what you would choose…
This was also nice because I didn’t have to worry about bpms and making them fit, so we could play almost anything that we wanted.
We might do a vol.2 in the future.
