Thanks very much Firestopper. I wanted to do a Philly styled disco romp, and throw in some obscure grooves that begged to be heard. The Idris track reminds me of the house music that Blaze produces (of course, Idris did it first, circa 76). The Tony Orlando track surprised me, found that with some of these others on Lovefingers website (devoted to rare and weird grooves, from excellent crate diggers).
Donald Byrd – Love Has Come Around
Roy Ayers – Chicago
Noel Pointer – Phantazia
Tony Orlando – Don’t Let Go
Karma – Funk De Mambo
Tony Sylvester – Cosmic Lady
Alex Cima – Disconerto
Spargo – A Go Go
Mirage – Woman
John Ozila – Funky Boogie
Metropolis – I Love New York
Queen Samantha – Take A Chance
Idris Muhammad – One With A Star
A splendidly-crafted set,but a bit diff style for me to accept fully.
Thanks for the taste challenge, tho.I was able to play it all the way through, which was a big accomplishment for you.
I must have a blind spot towards this period of disco.I much prefer punk from that period.
What a fabulous mix Mr Briscoe.
Really enjoyed that.
It just rolls along at a wonderfull pace, funky as a big box of funky things, with some real gems included.
I know I say it frequently, but this is also a very Summery mix.
Happy smiley music.
Thank you sir.
😀 😆 🙂
Some great tunes, lots of nice classic disco soul, particularly around the 35 to 50 minute section – tracklist please.

The piano on the Donald Byrd track also reminds me of early house.
