DJ Useo – Top Best Good
Sometimes the new rock seems uninspired & faceless.
Here’s some memorable tracks from the 80’s when you where
encouraged to sound your own way.At least more than now.
All are from vinyl. There’s a taste of country running through many.

02 michelle shocked – 33 rpm soul
03 young fresh fellows – carrothead
04 guadalcanal diary – always saturday
05 bodeans – fadeaway

07 godfathers – she gives me love
08 rank & file – amanda ruth
09 scruffy the cat – hello angel
10 darden smith – midnight train
11 split enz – message to my girl

14 the klf – build a fire
15 lloyd cole – she’s a girl & I’m a man
16 wire – ahead
17 bruce wooley & the camera club – flying man
18 map of the world – wall of least resistance
19 brains – dream life

21 hoodoo gurus – hallucination
22 dickies – dummy up
23 z-rocks – ‘turn it over’
Impressive collection. I wasn’t keen on most , but I thought the Dickies were cool (and of course KLF). Back then I was listening to punk/alternative/industrial/house. A band I liked alot that fits in with the alt/country vein is Camper Van Beethoven. Cool to see you polish up the vinyl, since there are lots to plunder that haven’t made their way to cd or mp3 yet.
Not my normal cup of tea, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Despite being a big indie fan in the 80s most of the tracks were new to me, except the Stuffies and the KLF (forgotten how nice that steel guitar was). Particularly enjoyed the Catheads tracks.
Well done for dusting them down and putting the needle to the groove.
Thanks much.I took a risk with the country flavour to some.
I forgot to mention, the cover is a painting of mine.
the dickies, for real? serious time warp for me on that one. nice eclectic mix….
the painting is impressive! d/l the mix …
