Matrix Mix 16 – More Bass (104Mb, 73:41, February 2004)
A raid in the Matrix archives; I had to tidy this one up a bit to make it
presentable, although there are still a couple of BPM transitions that I
would re-do if I was to do the mix planning all over again. Tracks 3-6 came
straight off an Erol Alkan CD that was on the cover of Muzik magazine.
Although I don’t post many electronic mixes, there is a substantial electronic
section in my collection and this is a sample of my favourite stuff at the
time (over three years ago).

My personal favourite out of this lot is the Ritmo track, shame it’s so short.
Top mix….the Stone Roses remix is a top tune….

Nice. Very nice. Bit of change for you, but the quality is still high obviously, and some cracking tunes in there.
As I hoped, this was fuckin great. I know what you mean about that Ritmo track, too short but very fuckin good.
I loved that Shadow tune ‘GDMFSOB’; don’t usually like Shadow but the odd tune or remix really hits the spot.
Nice mix, I remember getting that RITM mix of Fools Gold on import years back and not enjoying it. Sounds mighty fine now though…Good tune selction Matrix. cheers hp 🙂
I also totally agree with HP on the remix of Fools Gold. I’ve got it on a Stone Roses remix album, and didn’t think much of it a while back……now I think it’s a hidden gem.
