I found your Disco Punks set in Soulseek and i liked them so much! Great set!!! XoXo 🙂
Thank you Flavia! I think it is so cool that you can enjoy my music all the way in Brasil. I hope you enjoy this mix as well (and it’s a faster download than Soulseek). I put together a heady mix of 80’s R&B funk with Italo disco , industrial dance (PTP,Ajax) , and some modern tracks that mimic these styles. My fave track is Big Audio Dynamite’s “Free”, which I never tire of hearing after all these years.
I do not want to be repetitive good mixs
Ciao Zerolire,
Nice to hear from the Italian posse. Thanks!
Heh funny you mention ‘Free’… hearing that track made me want to drop by and comment on this mix… only at the 40 min mark, but I have to give ya some props man, this is some very nice shit right here… not normally my type of mix, but I have to admit I’m loving this… thanks man, look forward to more from ya…
been listening to this all week, another gem
This mix is a definite grower; halfway up my chest already, and eyeing up my throat ominously.
Lovin’ it! Cheers AGAIN Briscoe
As Stu said, it’s a grower.
I don’t like the kick-off track, but it is mostly very good after that.
Keep ’em coming.
Thanks very much guys! Been listening to an AM station at work recently that plays all black music, and occasionally they surprise you with stuff like Kraftwerk and Rolling Stones. From listening I was reminded about how much I liked the Sheila E and Stevie Wonder tracks as a kid, but like them even more so now. It’s weird how music ages. Because of rotating trends, some stuff sounds better now then it did before. I think it’s also because when people try to make new music sound old , it only makes you appreciate when it was done better. Not to say that the new music isn’t great, though, because there are a lot of new releases I think push the quality envelope further. Just like when I used to make tapes for my friends, my main goal was to make something that would get listened to , and I’m very glad that you guys enjoy the mixes. Again. thanks!
Just wanted to say how excellent this mix is. Having heard thousands of dj’s over the years playing safe its great to hear really different tunes in a mix without succumbing to the beard stroking pretentious waffle so many uk dj’s have now converted to! Just one thing, how the hell do I use the covers for this mix, what sizes are you printing them off at?
most of the covers here are not made to scale or to size and even those that are scaled down by us for use on the web. You can use a CD cover utility to import the pictures into a CD sized template I guess, I believe Nero has one bundled with its authoring software.
Does anyone know who did the Starsailor remix? It’s the killer track on this mix.
Cheers.
Thanks, the Starsailor remix is done by Thin White Duke aka Les Rhythmes Digitalles aka Jaques Lu Cont aka 1/3 of Zoot Woman.
