Only had brief moments of enjoyment for me early on as I don’t get on with Princess Superstar & Radio 4 & Chicks on Speed & DFA and the like.
However, about half way into it suddenly all clicked for me and burst into life. From about Franz Ferdinand onwards it was funk-shakingly rumpy. Top notch.
I like the second half better as well. The Rolling Stones track , Chicago, Berlin, VHS or Beta – top notch. The first half is also very cool, I love the way the Air/NERD/Armand van Helden works . Top one Nice One Get sorted.
Thanks all. This mix was probably the hardest of anything I’ve done. In a sense, this mix IS 2 mixes in 1. The first half is a cut-n-paste mix much in the lines of an old-school Steinski mix. I tried to just throw bits and pieces of different tracks together and see what sounded good. The second half of the mix is more structured, and features white label mixes and other boot-type tracks like Meat Beat’s “Cutman”. I hope that everyone takes a chance and downloads this mix, and gives it a listen to. Because I think that if you give it a chance it’s gonna get under your skin 🙂
later half was much better… mixing was more fluid..
there were less. abrupt mixes like in the 1st half..
but.. at the same time.. the modifications you did to the songs and the amt of work you put into this is just plain awsome!!!
awesome cover
And an awesome mix too!
Go Spiny, Go!
