Love this, psychedelic and punk/garage rock rhythms. How Wax is a great song. Like how you fleshed out the mix with a middle of Bela Lugosi and ended with Flaming Lips. many of these songs reminded me of Pop Levi. Very cool mix.
Thanks Briscoe. I’ve been sporadically collecting psych tracks for a while, then a jet lag induced early morning last weekend gave me the opportunity to fashion the mix.
I’m particularly tickled by Hobo Rocket; from an NME review:
Pond’s open-mindedness lifts off towards event status on the title track, in which a guy called Cowboy John – a local legend described in the sleevenotes as “artist, mystic, wanderer, eccentric’’ – rants and mumbles about flying through the universe at “twice the speed of light’’ on a “horse with wings’’ like a dope-fried Lou Reed, then starts asking the band mid-song what drugs they’ve got.
Really loved this, especially the Psyence track, will be checking them out! cheers hp
Candy Flip, Get in my son 🙂
This was perfect for my ears. SO well done, it’s haunting. Thanks.
Thanks guys. I like doing a mix in a genre I haven’t tried before.
(except Xmas mixes… they’re not my thing at all. Bah humbug.)
