Love the mix! The last track “Pure Imagination” was increadible!!! I was listening and HAD toknow who the artist was and low and behold wouldn’t you just know it.. you had a ? mark there.. oh no!!! I HAVE to knwo who did this track, it’s brilliant!!!! Did some investigation.. I think I got it: Can anyone out there verify this for me?
“ELECTRO BLUE’s rendition of “Pure Imagination” (originally written by Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley) is also a dance remake, but this song comes from the sound track of the classic Hollywood movie musical “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” originally recorded as a beautiful ballad performed by Gene Wilder. With permission from the original publishers, this new dance version has been completely rewritten, arranged and produced by ELECTRO BLUE for iDANCE RECORDS. The song “A Little Too Lateâ€, also included on this 12 track EP is a new original electronica pop ballad showcasing ELECTRO BLUE’S impressive songwriting, vocal and producing talents.”
Most satisfying & sometimes totally captivating.I was drawn in to deeper depths by many of the parts like the avalanches & d punk medley.
A killer work that portrays you fantastically as a dj.
All around great & I loved the cover, too!
I believe the track is by FORD, featuring the vocals of Joni. It seems there are two versions; the ‘Pure Imagination (Wonka Trance Edit)’ version and the ‘Pure Imagination (Wonka Trance Club Remix)’ version. A lack of ID3 tags leaves me incapable of telling you which I used in the mix 🙁 -my bad.
This mix is kewl – plunderphonics galore just like it says on the cover “Phonaesthetics For Beginners”. Kudos. Sometimes pleasant other times unpleasant but all in all very entertaining & very creative.
Only negative thing is the mixing could have been a wee bit more cohesive, rather than all hard cuts some blends & crossovers would have been better but then it would’nt have been as chaotic & scattery as mentioned by Firestopper. Also levels are sometimes soft on some parts & really load at others, look into finding a copy of T-racks or use the wave hammer on Sound Forge to make the mix all on level before posting.
Dude this is a roller coaster but kept my attention all the way.
I found this really interesting. Seems like you had some fun chopping all this together? Tracklist is challenging but for the most part it works well. One low point was the Daft Punk megamix. 😐 Horrible, like a bad cover version. Didn’t like that. Great mixing though, nice one.

@ useo8
Thank you 😀
I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!
That was a wild ride, but in a good way !
I love the random, chaotic, scattery feel of the mix.
Whilst listening on-line & doin other stuff, I was constantly checkin back to the tracklist, to check out what certain trax were !
Lots of hi-lites. Good work fella.
Thank you.
😛 😆 🙂
Man – you deserve kudos for the cover – fablous old “look” feel – just what is a phonaesthetics ❓
Looked it up & Wikpedia says: Phonaesthetics is the claim or study of inherent pleasantness or beauty or unpleasantness.
Will give the mix a listen (hope it’s pleasant rather than un)but the cover is fab.
Yeah, totally agree with the cover commment from HDD.
This is next on my mp3 player, so i’ll comment soon.
