More in the style of Andy Votel, which I love.
Heard of a couple of the bands, but never any of the tunes. Gonna be interesting, this one!!
is this tobacco or pink floyd 😈
Rarely have i come upon such a challenging set.By employing only individualistic go-their-own-way tracks you set a high bar for the listener.By selecting the pieces here you also provide a rewarding experience with much audio richness.Combined it results in one great play! Very good sound to it as well.My fave track was the mothers one. 😀 😀 😀 😀 8) 8) 8) 8)
Nice feedback, man (and you other guys too) 😉
I’m loath to suggest it’s a grower because that’s a) a bit off-putting for the casual listener and b) is a bit self-important! That said, I think all of these songs took a while to drip into my consciousness and now I love them all. The credit I can take is minimal, there’s not exactly much ‘mixing’ on show! I’m putting together another set in a similar psych vein at the moment but I don’t want to lay it on too thick…might just be for personal use. Gotta get some fresh ideas!
“Psychedelic rock, folk and blues” is an area of the record shop I’d normally scoot through fairly rapidly (while on my way to post-post-punk bootleg ska, no doubt). But this selection proves how wrong I am to ignore it all – some cracking tunes in here.
And as for Phi Mu Washboard Band I’d happily sit through an hour of nails down a blackboard to be able to hear that at the end.
Liked this mix. I was wondering how it would all hang together, but it is well thought out with a nice flow to it.
I admit did not think this was for me but a very refeshing set. This is what b00mb0x is all about. Opening our ears to music we never have come across. Agree about the Washboard thingy as well. Wow where did that come from??
I got it ages ago from that 365 Days project, a kind of bargain-bin hunting exercise. A year’s worth of utter bollocks provided me with that one solitary minute or so of absolute beauty, the accents and amateurish gorgeousness just slay me.
