This is sooo good. I’m so glad you put this together. Run them Away remake is very cool. The first time I heard On U was 89 when I bought Pay It All Back vol 2 on vinyl. The booklet inside with the crew and Sherwood was a view into another world. Thanks for the mix!
thanx briscoe. this mix came about as a result ov the recent on-u comp “sherwood at the controls volume 1: 1979 – 1984”. the “private armies dub” trak particularly grabbed me. i dug out the 1st NAS rekkid to check out the original, then pulled out a coupla more ov the early stuff. since i had them out it seemed only sensible to rip to me hdd. i then just carried on rippin everythin on-u & related. total ov 100gb in the end!
ov corse, i was then listenin to loads i ripped. since a lot ov the 80s stuff i’m very familiar wiv, i woz more interested in hearin stuff i wasn’t so familiar wiv. when i heard “private i”, i wanted to put it inna mix & then started lookin at wot i’d like to accompany it. this mix is the result
