This is a mix I did back in 2004. I was trying out Traktor for the first time, and wanted to see how it handled. The only track I planned was Chicken Lips “He Not In”, from there it was somewhat random. This is the only mix I’ve done without without planning the tracklist, so I didn’t write them down. Another thing I did different with this mix was I didn’t let most of the tracks breathe (play out) like I usually do. I wanted to post a mix that was straight up house music, and take a break from my thrift store records obsessed mixes of late. Hope you enjoy.
Nice mix.
The 5th track is Sweet Nothing by Lawnchair Generals and the track after Evum sounds really familiar too but I can’t place it.
love it briscoe
can’t help ya with any unknowns.. my memory’s like a siv 😈
Thanks guys! Most of these tracks I had downloaded from sites that had MP3 promos, but I forget what the names were of the sites (something like epitonic, or emusic). It’s funny how trends ebb and flow. Tracks came from blogs, Oink, and magazine sites at different times. Napster, then Soulseek, and cd/vinyl rips were the main source of mp3s for me. When I got a lot of tracks that were random, a mix is the best way to make them listenable.
Enjoying the mix, straight up house music always goes down well. The tune that comes in at about 51 mins is Yann Fontaine “Foreverinyourlove”.
Thanks Shining Steve. I forgot about Yann Fontaine, sweet deep tracks. There is so much music, I sometimes go through my wall of cds or records box just to remember stuff. I have an Ipod Classic 120 gig that I am always deleting tracks to make room for new tracks. So much music and yet so much good music. Thanks.
Good stuff, nodded away to this one.
Fun mix.
