Tenorio Junior – Nebulosa (Nu tone remix)
Madmen and Poets – Scandinavian Sunday
The Nextmen – did no wrong (Commix remix)
More than acceptable I’d say! I particularly liked the last four tracks, Be True is one of my favourites anyway and Commix are pretty reliable but the one that really stood out is the Madmen and Poets track, gorgeous tune.
Loved the jazzy dnb. As a genre I think it stopped growing years ago, so it’s good to hear dnb that kept the standards high. Omni Trio , Calibre , High Contrast, etc. I’m also impressed by your own intro track, killer bass line. For me dnb peaked with the Bristol crew , Reprazent, More Rockers, Breakbeat Era (punk rock dnb), and also Blame, Justice, DJ SS , etc. Thanks for reminding me that I want dnb to resurge with a new spirit , much it did in these tunes.
nice one briscoe – I had loads of tracks of this kind that were just begging to be made into a mix – also i had that track i made knocking around and i wanted to do something with it. I still like dnb – I like the pure energy, but i also dig the jazzy vibes of the ”intelligent’ stuff. thanks for your ears
Nice work Len, really enjoyed this although I’m not a d&b head. Nice work with the intro too – didn’t realise it was yours until I just saw the tracklist.
I seem to recall this kind of vibe being called “intelligent” d&b back in the day, so much better than “ignorant” d&b imho.

Hiya HP – here’s the original: http://www.bmbx.org/2006/10/the-acceptable-face-of-drum-and-bass/ 6 years ago now!!
Was a time when there wasn’t much else I would listen to apart from Drum and Bass, so looking forward listening to this.
