the soundtrack to my youth
cheers dj
Like the tunes, very well thought out, same bands different tracks that were really good
yeah… wow! Same here! This is the soundtrack to my teenage years. Awesome track list. Grabbing this one NOW!
Lovely ride! LOVED every single track very much. Each track takes me back to a special time of my crazy youth! LOVELY! Although, personally, I would label this music the real “Post Punk Alt-Rock” but the real “new wave” works too 🙂 There was this special time in music where punk rock was fading out and electronic music was coming in. The time between those two musical moments in time have produced some great music!!!!! Thanks for making this mix. I really enjoyed it!!!! Make more please! Actually, this reminds me of 1980 – 1984 living in in New Orleans, LA listening to a rare week signal pirate radio station that no longer exists… A wonderful time of descovery 🙂 Peace!
Would have been nice to see some early Pretenders in da mix. You know, if you listen real close to the “pretty in pink” track you will hear a Lou Reed quitar lick in there, driving me crazy though, can’t remember the track name. It might have been from Velvet Underground. OK, I’m pretty sure I’m thinking of the Velvet Underground – Sweet Jane track. :-)… MAN! I totally forgot about the Just A Girl Devo track. Thanks so much for this walk down memory lane!
Ahh,this is a joy to me.13 & 23 are the only tracks I haven’t heard lately from my own vinyl collection.
Good work on a great-sounding mix.
use08, yeah, this is what I loved so much about this mix… I “had” all the vinyls 🙁 I so miss my collection. I moved from Florida and sold my 3,000 vinyl collection, it was a horrible day. But, I have it all back now in digital form, however, just not quite the same. All those colored vinyls, and picture discs… and… oh oh… I better stop talking about it or I’ll start collecting again.
very good mix… plugs a nice gap in the b00mb0x files.
