Nice feeling to this. The mix really grooves. Flows up and down. You feel these infectious grooves without being conscious of the music and then… blamo! another soulful song with the substance to withstand full attention.
Came across this background on the strange and cool ‘Peanut Duck’:
‘Peanut Duck’ was a no-name acetate whose original DJ owner first used the Marsha Gee tag. It became massive when Stafford DJ Keb Darge got the acetate and played it at the iconic nighter.
My comment didn’t begin to convey how much I like this mix. I’ve been listening to a lot of soul and funk the last few years. For my taste, these songs and the way they lay together makes mix stands out above most others.
Likin the selection, especially Patti Jo! is it the black science orchestra vers here? track after pretty darn sweet too… quality once again. ta Benchmark

Cheers for the comment Spacehuman, and also the fact. I always thought Peanut duck was a bit of an obscure name!
