Man you’ve beaten me to the punch! – I’ve been shortlisting some tracks recently to put on a Balearic mix and you’ve included about 4 or 5 of them here (you’ve obviously got the Mastercuts Balearic Classics album too
)
Incidentally, for anyone who hasn’t heard it that Quiet Village album is fantastic and highly recommended – top chillage.
Anyway, looking forward to giving this mix a spin and I’ll have to have a rethink now as I don’t want to include too many similar tracks on mine…
haha – great comp innit!
quiet village is indeed superb – been loving it – gonna check em out at the big chill in a month or so.
It is indeed!
And you can download a rather nice Quiet Village mix from here:

Great laid back mix! Bassomatic and Jaz Chankel my fave tracks
HOW SWEET IT IS…n thanks for the link. Peace.
Nice one Len. Lovely to hear the Grid again. Takes me back to when I used to read about Balaeric in Mixmag as a nipper!
Sweet indeed, the dog’s balaerics. It must be summer. And you even managed to get away with Chris Rea…
Cheers for the Quiet Village mix groovypanda – really enjoyed that too.
cheers all for the nice words
Listened to this many times and just realised I’ve not commented yet. Well, wot can I say but great selection (as Groovypanda said, I have also had some of these stashed away for a balearic mix, now to be re-thinked!)
Love how you teased out the best of Josephine (the only Chris Rea track worth having) and mix into and out of it, the Lupo track was great as well, very reminisent of Plutonic from the same era. Great start with Quiet Village as well, as mentioned here that really is a beautifully chilled album. Not really heard that instrumental version of Bassomatic either, another track that slots in perfectly. All in all too many highlights to mention – a near perfect summer mix. thanks hp
cheers hp – appreciated! glad someone was into the josephine re-edit i did!
nice one…got to go back to this one I think, but on first listen twas a winner. nicely laid back but with just the right amount of energy in it.
cheers matrix!
