this is a downtempo mix i did way back in May 2002. this is volume 3 in a series of mixes i did for an audiogalaxy group i was in.
at the time i was frustrated with the number of so called ‘chill-out’ mixes that were commercially available that weren’t really mixed at all, just one track gently fading into the next so i wanted to try and acheive a true mix where the overall vibe was chilled. obviously the very nature of downtempo tracks mean it’s not always possible to beat-mix, but most of the tracks here are with one or two exceptions.
anyway, looking back there’s a couple of things i’d probably change about it now but it was fairly well received at the time and i’d obvioulsy be interested to hear what folks around these parts think.
I became a Dad about 6 weeks ago so not having much time at the moment to do new mixes so I may post a couple of the others in the series in the near future…
suprised you haven’t got more comments – but this is a really good collection! Enjoyed the omni trio especially, superbly put together and fires a royal rocket up the @rse of other ‘chillout’ comps. love it.
congrats on the new born – i found i had more time for mixes as i was staying up at weird times of night! 😀
True. Like the Spring, I almost missed this one. Who does the female parts on the Coolio track? Dat Pirates On Dope I have got to check-out & That “Thick” track is the b0mb. Nicely done. Peace.
I used to listen to all of your mixes on audio galaxy. I found volume 2 on mixcloud. Still trying to find volume 1 and 4. Have loved your work for 20 years. Thank you!

Sweet chillout mix… real back in the day feel to it… thx man
Finally getting around to listening to this… absolutely gorgeous… a wonderful addition to the “Chilled Generation” series.
Took me a couple of listens to get into this, but I agree with the above comments – high quality chillout. Nice one.
Top mix, far better than all that commercially released sh*te. Never get bored of hearing funky for you an all cheers hp 🙂
