A mix of dubbed out electronica – starts out on the surface, quite jolly and all and then decends into the sea and gets a bit deeper 🙂
1 – Celestial – Pounding Waves
2 – Celestial – Kwoloon, Hong Kong
3 – The Merkin Dream – It’s Daylight Again
4 – Funki Porcini – Dubble (organ swell)
5 – Silent Poets – I will miss this holy garden (dub)
6 – Massive Attack Vs Mad Professor – Radiation Ruling The Nation (protection)
7 – Leggo Beast – For Sergei
8 – Jon Kennedy – Save the people
9 – Shur-I-Kan – Dubfunk
10 – Massive Attack – Better Things
11 – Silent Poets – where the sidewalk ends (dub)
12 – Massive Attack – The hymn of the big wheel
I listened to this again yesterday and it’s on my favourite mixes. I imagine the first couple of tracks are the submarine on the surface with the waves crashing over them ready to descend then they get deeper and deeper through the dark until eventually (about track 4/5) they encounter a weird and wonderful civilisation and they’re floating through an underwater atlantis or something.
i did enjoy it alot. especially the first two tracks. i checked tracklistings of your other mixes and i like your taste. just read the pearl a few days ago and maybe gonna get inspired reread cannery row. great stuff – keep that vibe flowing.
@trap.track if you like the first two (both from celestial) then I strongly recommend that you check out their albums: http://www.hongkongdubstation.com/
Just listening now… Very pleased with track 4 – I forgot how much I loved that Funki Porcini album. I’m surprised you didn’t go for “The Deep” in keeping with the theme.
It’s all well good so far though. Looking forward to the rest.
Damn – yeah ‘the deep’ would have been perfect for this mix! How did I miss that one?! I do love the one I chose though, that track just sounds soooooo good 🙂
Very deep (more like 30,000 leagues) and nicely chilled. I enjoyed it a lot and (like trap.track) especially liked the first two tunes – hadn’t heard Celestial before but will defintely watch out in future.

Thanks mr_lovely 🙂
Really pleased everyone is digging the mix. I have to credit Soyo over on the bigchill forums for tipping me off to celestial.
Given how popular this one is I might do another (30,000 leagues under the sea sounds like a good title 😉 ) in the same vein.
enjoyed this tom – deep and bubbling: someone pass the aqualung
Adored this mix. So blissful 🙂
Easy to forget what great albums Blue Lines and Protection were / are.
Thanks Ken and Lenodd – glad ya liking it 🙂
