So, this month’s mix took longer than usual. I’m always mulling over what direction(s) to take the series, and every so often I like to review past installments to see what styles I’ve enjoyed the most. After my first two years on the ‘b0x, my sets went almost exclusively towards the summery sounds of house… and looking back, I genuinely enjoyed making those sets the most. So it’s become fairly obvious (probably moreso to others than to myself) that this is the defining quality of the Lazy//Sexy series. I’ll throw in one trance/progressive set once a year (when I’m moody), but for the most part, this is it.
Anyway, regardless if you just read that rubbish or not, this set is a headstart embrace for summer. It may feel too early, but I’m in denial. Summer needs to get here, and it can’t get here soon enough… maybe it’s that latent New England seasonal affective disorder that I keep telling myself doesn’t exist. So I give you “Open Sail”, a set that is actually the ending of one older unreleased set with new, fresher tunes (the older set was finished a year ago, but the intro was just a bit too tech-house for my tastes. Figure that one out!)
Good news for those of you who enjoy this type of stuff: it’s gonna be like this for the next 8 sets or so. Shoot your weatherman and stay posted!

Thanks for the comments guys. I know I don’t comment nearly as much as I used to, so this means a lot to me. I’ve gone the summer route, y’know? The next mix will have a lot of the same, followed by a few more upbeat mixes (gotta have my disco in there, you know).
Glad I could warm fifty ears over the weekend 😉 (as reported by the download counter)
“Going down a storm at my local watering hole in Cape Town” – does that mean you played this mix for other people to hear? Just curious, cause that’d be awesome if you did 😉

Yup! Has been played out quite a few times at a pub called the Royal Oak in Tableview, Cape Town. Gets a great reaction. Perfect for watching the awesome sunsets we get.
