The challenge here was to create a crowd-pleasing, low-barrier-to-entry, familiar-yet-fresh collection of pop songs released in the mid-80s. Hope you enjoy!

Wow… very representative! I agree with dEZ, about mix some Unknown or less commercial tracks from the same top 80´s artist… anyways is a cool selection…
Cheers!
Appreciate the feedback! I was trying to make create something that would be familiar to the masses, so found myself sticking to tracks that got radio play… but I hear what you’re saying. I’ve got something much more esoteric lined up for December!
Mmmm, the mainstream 80’s were a horrorshow in my opinion! Nothing wrong with putting this mix out btw… just not an era that does anything for me personally.
A bit too cheesy for me, very easy mistake to make as well, as there was so much cheese around back then… could’nt move without being covered in cheese as I remember it.
Good idea though and I’m sure this will float a lot of people’s boat… tbh Dangerspouse was smiling and singing for a lot of it, so you’ve impressed her.
Chief Sawhorse – Pure Pop (1982 – 1986)

Great cover, looks like a Pulp cd.
On the d/l, just curious how you made the transitions.
Africa is one of my fav’ songs of the 80ies.
thx dEZ… I’m not set up for live mixing, so I did all the crossfading in Toast.
Nothing to say on the tracklist, it represents quite well the hits of that period.
Maybe you should try to dig up some unknown songs and alternate them with huge hits? (my two cents)
