Two Flying Fish tracks, ‘Duppy Conqueror’ and Hot Brass 8 Band?? I reckon that we are gonna need to check out each others tracklist before we post… was looking to fit them in a mix sometime very soon!
This looks like a boss mix… isn’t that Bob Marley remixed album the DB’s?
Hi Stu, you’re absolutely right with our tracklistings – I was in the middle putting this together when your ‘search & enjoy’ hit the b0x and I had to change things a bit – Coconut Ska etc!
It’s been great for me – you’ve put me on to some fab tunes & acts – and absolutely, the Bob Marley remix project is AWESOME!
Great stuff as usual (apart from the Phil Collins bootleg but that’s just because of my personal prejudice against him!) – I like the transition from Joy Division into “Reasons To Be Cheerful” especially! 😉
Cheers Steve for giving it a whirl – I’m certainly not a Phil Collins fan, it’s just that Cadbury’s tv-ad with the gorilla playing the drums got me digging it out after many years and I thought what the ‘ell stick it in!
(peeps don’t get to the end of the mixes do they?!)
Hey Stu – sorry mate! My b0x-selecta timetable as I see it from here on is (if I find the time!) another Dubsta (ch3) and then the traditional crimbo offering! So should keep me away from your tunes for a while! 😉
Cheers Mr ReadyBreak – I was meaning to drop a message on your myspace area about this selection. Yeah the sonny j trk’s an anthem – have you still got your first gig as a live band on the 24th October? I wish you well with the “scratching it up” business for the mighty mr J!
Blimey what a wet afternoon, glad it played well for you, RossS!
Cool Len, I’m glad somebody’s picked up on the purple haze trk – what a killer tune! I just couldn’t stop grinning when I first heard it!
Glad you enjoyed this outing – your expertly crafted unaerobic exercise is still being played loud on the shed system! Cheers again dude!
WoW! This is a very lovely mix! LOVELY!!! Such a good vibe thourghout. Ok, the track that starts at the 37:30 mark is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m going to have to listen to the whole mix again so I can pay attention to the track listing, not that I will have a problem listening to this again 😉 It’s delicious!!!!!!!
He shoots……HE SCORES!!! Loved it all even the Phil Collins bootleg 😉 and I was very impressed with the Bas Lexter and Purple Haze tunes. Gonna get DJ Disse’s album now that I’ve heard a few of his tunes.
This is your best selection of tunes so far, and you’ve made some killer selections. Top draw Steve……
I can’t get passed the 40 min. mark or so.. I keep rewinding a bit to keep the joy going. WoW! Just love that track! ’spanish reggae’ – dj disse I think it is. But I have to just listen to the whole thing again.
Wow just been writing a very boring long email – come back & there’s all these fab comments!!!
I’ll be back – just got a few more boring errands to do!!!
Such top comments guys – brilliant – Stu don’t spend your money mate, drop us your details via myspace and I’ll send you a copy pronto!
Hi Tony (Mr Green Cheese) it is the DJ Disse – spanish reggae trk – same goes – click on the S.A.T next to the tape pic – drop me a message with details & I’ll send it out.
Cheers again fellas for giving it a play and the big ups – mucho respecto!
Lenodd check your myspace messages – I’ve left my details 😉
Listened to this a lot over the last few days. Another terrific mix SAT and a perfect opener – such a joyous song to start a mix. The whole mix was a set of contrast in styles and yet as they were such well chosen songs it all worked perfectly. The only one I wasn’t sure of was Decades but even that fits fine now. Marvellous and thanks again, cheers hp 🙂
Good to hear from you HP – It’s always a result if a selection gets a second listen! Glad to hear you’ve given it a good spin! Great feedback again, dude, many thanks.
There’s a lot on the old Joy Division coming out at the moment, what with all the albums being re-released on heavyweight vinyl and the new film ‘Control’ on Ian Curtis etc. It forced me to have a revisit to one of my all time fav bands and ‘Decades’ was very much a soundtrk to my life at the start of the eighties!
Weird to think I hadn’t listened to it for about sixteen or so years!
Also it ‘s a kind of tribute track to Tony Wilson, I saw him talking about 24 Hour Party People in 2002, what a TOP GEEZER!

Great stuff as usual (apart from the Phil Collins bootleg but that’s just because of my personal prejudice against him!) – I like the transition from Joy Division into “Reasons To Be Cheerful” especially! 😉
Fuckin hell, didn’t even see Sonny J at the start… that’s the last tune on my next mix
Cheers Steve for giving it a whirl – I’m certainly not a Phil Collins fan, it’s just that Cadbury’s tv-ad with the gorilla playing the drums got me digging it out after many years and I thought what the ‘ell stick it in!
