This “special” mix is a result of a good friend of mine who plays guitar telling me he needed some inspiration. So the mix is what it says it is, Guitar Madness For Dave. If you aint likin’ screamn’ guitars, you might want to stay away… 🙂 So this month I steer away from eclectisism for a friend. Hope you all EnJoY! Easter Hey; Sounds like I lost you with Adrian Belew – Electric Cat 😉 Well, to make it through this mix you really have to absolutley LOVE screaming guitars and the talent behind them!! Yes, my buddy was extremely inspired by the mix and very gratefull. Sometimes a source of inspiration is all one needs to make it through the hump!

Beond and trap.track, thanks for the kodos.

There is something about a screaming guitar that, well, just makes me happy…

Very nicely put together. The start is particularly good. You even got me enjoying a Smashing Pumpkins track.

LOL! Pretty funny about the Smashing Pumpkin track. If it makes you feel better, it’s not one of their mainstream tracks. Glad you EnJoYeD my hand picked guitar moments of inspiration. I had a lot of fun making this mix and I think I scared my wife and the neighbors in the process 😯 Tested out the mix by kranking it loud out in the front yard while doing yard work

Yeah, that’s a special one indeed!!! I have everything Adrian Belew ever did, including his solo work and time spent with King Crimson. He’s a very special guitar player! Very unconventional. Love the guy! He did some exceptional work on this album here: king crimson – 3 of a perfect pair. Adrian belew has played with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, just to name a few, the guy has been around! Exceptional talent.

Egadds! I was just reading about the 3 of a perfect pair album and noticed this paragraph: “Tracks 10-15 were not featured on the original release of the album, but were added for the 2001 remaster. The three last tracks (remixes) were, in fact, available in separate vinyls from the single Sleepless.” I have got to get me that one! Was not aware that there was a remaster of this masterpiece! WoW! Great news!

Didn’t realise Adrain Belew played with Zappa. Loved those early 80’s King Crimson albums with AB as well. “I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when understress, I repeat!” 😈

Hey HP, so glad you EnJoYeD the madness It’s is a good mix to just crank loud and rock out! Adrian Belew is a guitar genuis no doubt. Here is a quick factoid:

1960
â— Adrian joins the Ludlow High School marching band as a drummer. Later, he forms cover bands with fellow classmates; most notably, The Denems. The Denems were a local, well known Beatles cover band.

1970
â— Adrian changes his name from Robert Steven to ‘Adrian’ – a name he’d always liked.

â— Adrian is discovered by Frank Zappa while playing in a cover band named Sweetheart at the infamous Fanny’s in Nashville. Frank gets Adrian’s name from his chauffeur and later invites Adrian to Los Angeles to audition for his band.

â— Adrian tours with Frank Zappa. while on tour, Adrian meets David Bowie. Bowie is so impressed with Adrian, he asks him to join his band. The Zappa tour comes to an end and Adrian records on the Bowie classics, Stage and Lodger.

Lodger by the way is “still” one of my favorite Bowie albums next to Low. Great ambient work from Brian Eno on Bowies “Low” album… Next mix I will be diving back into the eclectic genra mashing
