Hi all – I haven’t bought much in the way of new music this month – all the muso’s must be too busy playing at muddy fests or sunning themselves on small islands!
So this gave me the chance to put a dub plate selection together – my kind of easy-listening music!
I don’t pretend to be an authority on dub – but I’ve been picking up these platters from shacks like daddy kool since the early eighties.
You’ll find there’s absolutely no structure or reason to the track ordering because it was very much a random pick and blend scenario – any connections between the tracks I would put down to the work of jah!
enjoy!

cheers again for listening fellas – bong : I’s agree nothing like a bit of reggie – your currygoat mix is still on my pod and still being played! If I could order my b00mb0x mixes a bong dub special would certainly be up there for the asking!
Firestarter: I know what you mean when I started putting this selection together I was getting into a good groove with it, but then the more I gave it a listen the more I lost the will to finish the thing – it was nice just taking it easy for a change! Cheers again the pozitive vibes! …..jah-relax-i! π―
What a storming idea! I’ve been a dub head since the mid-70s and the groove, beat (or lack of it) and vibration of it still move me as they did over 30 years ago. A varied and interesting selection – and if it moves bong to do a follow up to ‘Curry Goat’, then so much the better. π
Well worth checking, Augustus Pablo, ‘East of the River Nile’ and his seminal ‘King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown’; Tapper Zukie in Dub; I Roy, ‘Crisus Time’; U Roy, ‘Dread Ina Babylon’; Dr Alimantado, ‘Best Dressed Chicken in Town’ (track 1 has the deepest bass you’ll ever hear – low frequency stuff!); Tommy McCook, ‘King Tubby Meets the Agrovators at Dub Station’; Uhuru In Dub (Black Uhuru & Prince Jammy); Big Youth, ‘Natty Cultural Dread’; and Prince Far I, ‘Under Heavy Manners’. Should be something you can use, I hope. Good luck with it – bong told me how tricky it was to match the beats with reggae & dub.
Yo inspiration! Wow many thanks swittle for the dub recommendations – i think we’re on the same wavelengths here – some of those are in my dub pile. Dr Alimantado, Γ’β¬ΛBest Dressed Chicken in TownΓ’β¬β’ – there’s an album I remember back in the day but don’t have a copy – ebay here I come! I’m definitely now going start work on a dubsta chapter 2!
With the mixing – I’m sorry to say there’s no skill on my part – just bang in a wicked dub sample (which most dubplates have in abundance) & then crash in the next killer!
Nawt much better than this kind’a style of tune.Lovely selection with every track. The technique & production sound are great.
Very nice cover as well. This is one excellent listen.Gracias.
Cheers once again Mr Useo for having a listen and the very cool feedback – the sound levels with all the different pressings are my chief worry – so I’m very pleased it’s played well for you!
The boogieshed has just gone wireless & boosted – so I’m hoping to be more of an active ‘b0x listener from now on – so I’ve got a lot of catching up to do!
