ok – here’s a mix I did a few years back… wasn’t too long after ray charles died, hence the “ray triple play” in the middle of the mix…
this one was fun to do – and ended up airing on Solid Steel (21 FEB 2005)…

hope y’all dig it… and it’s kid safe for the “greencheese” crowd…! 🙂
enjoy!
Had this for a few years now, and it’s fuckin great! Cheers Matt, I always enjoy a Megatrip mix
Oh wow, Nancy Wilson “End of Our Love” – one of my favourite tunes ever, the vocals are incredible – there’s a bit near the end where she almost loses it, fantastic! The rest of the mix is pretty damn fine as well of course!
Better than a grenade in a wedding cake 😆 !
auh, thanks for thinking of me King 🙂 Grabbn’ it now! 🙂 …and nice to know I can play it with the kids.
Will be back with a review in a few.. waiting for the coffee to finish brewing.
Hey LOVE the album cover.. I remember that movie. Now what was the name of that movie… I can rememebr it well. Bill Cosby was great in that one. 70’s movie right… hmm…
the film’s called “let’s do it again”
Wow, that spoken word bit in the beginning had to take a long time! well done!… Oh I just LOVE this Curtis mayfield track. Bongos of fury always going on in the background of mayfield tracks. Just love it! Feel the Funk baby! It’s Alright Girl DOES have soul! It’s deep within the recording, in deep. Bang Bang, new track for me, love it! owen and leon…LOVELY! Some nice RaRe Sca,.. happy music! This mix has some fantastic spoken word throughout! Just great! Ada Ray no longer believes in a miracle, it’s just so sad…. very sad. Mark Murphy – waters of march > special track! “A truckload of Bricks in the soft morning light”.. ok – who esle has been here? I know I have, what a great lyric! This song, you have to listen to several times before you get it. The peddlers – Say no more.. EeeiK! Cheese, glorious cheese. wadiaaaa woo oooohhhh ooohhh wadiya do oohh wa wa ooohhh, do lyrics get better than that? 😉 I’ve heard many King Megatrip mixes nad find many of them inspirational, this mix I can say is the best one I heard so far from the KING! Nice Work King! Please keep them coming, they are a ray of sunshine and hope. I’m going to go make a club sandwich now…
Let’s Do It Again,.. auh yes… thanks for the info Bong. I’m going to have to go and rent that old classic now and go back on a time triP
Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Loved the intro session, and then stayed for the tunes – esp loved the ska version of Bang Bang and the reggae Country Roads “West Jamaica” 😛
More please.
the peddlers did it for me.
again – excellent use of samples (you must have a huge bank of them) – good mix for summer – nice one 🙂
Same as everyone . . .
Where have you got all those samples from ?
I desperately seek for some . . .
hey dez and everyone… thanks for the kind comments – glad you’re enjoying it!
as far as the word samples go…. that’s obsessive compulsive disorder for you… I pick out samples from movies, tv, interviews and old time radio adventures…
and I cannot just sit back and enjoy a movie without jumping up every 5 minutes and saying – “that might work in a mix!”…
anyways – I’ve been collecting samples like that for at least 7 or so years now… got like 16,000 of them archived and ready for use… if only I made a few more mixes!
anyways – glad this one is going over good… thanks!
This is great, had me walking down the street smiling like a big smiley thing. Thanks very much for this.
yeah. heard this on the steel back then and it still is boss!!!
I enjoyed listening to this Matt, but I have to say, your original Mad Mixes in the 80’s are still my favorite!
I don’t know if this is the original version of the “Bang bang” song but this version rocks.
And this version of Hit the road Jack is a hell of a version too.
This is a must have…
