This was quite a hard decision whether or not to post this mix as it’s been on another site (www.earskills.net) for a few weeks. But I think that this is my best mix yet so I thought that I should post it here as well.
This is a funky party mix that is similar to my “Sound as Two Pound” mix. Some old, some new, some classics, and even an accapella at the end for good measure.
Watch out for a bit of interference at about the 3 min stage. Not sure what happened but I wasn’t going to re-record it again just because of that.
Mixed live in one take on my CD decks. Should be a nice soundtrack for a barbie, or outdoor party…..
Real nice mix, nothin too heavy in there.
Sunday is my favourite day for goin thru the b00mb0x mixes and this is perfect sunday afternoon listening.
Get the barbecue on indeed
Thanks for this one
Cheers for the comments about the mixing Len, I was happy with it overall; always room for improvement though! I reckon that bring the volume in too quickly once I’ve got it mixed in headphones. Could do with being a bit subtler.
nah – your tightest set yet – breaks needs some boom in the mixups! I’m gonna do my best of breaks at some point, from when i used to play a lot of that stuff out 🙂
A wonderful live set.Glad I had the heads’ up on the 3-minute squawk.I was prepared that way.
Fantastic tunes here, mixed with joy.I knew more of the earlier tunes, but they were all a big pleasure.
Most enjoyed mocean worker.Nice work on that pella addition at the end.
Thanks much.
As for the accapella, expect more of them on future mixes as I’ve been playing around with them recently and I’ve got a couple more ready to go; one for a house mix and another for a hiphop mix.
Gunna listen to this 2moro morning, looks the biz as always Stu – still gotta listen to your part of the collab… think that’ll be a Friday afternoon job 😕
Love this mix. I’m a big fan of breaks done righ, and especially old school breaks. Rebel Mc is a true innovator , making killer breaks and spawning dnb ragga style. This is fuuuunky
Very nice funky mix – not a beat out of place 😉

To stop this from happening makes sure your middle vertical faders (on your mixer) are set so they are at full (up top) using your master fader to get the full (room) volume level. This way you can “stab” in beats with the middle faders without worrying about levels.
Cheers again for commenting on 3style – I was a bit late in catching this – but it’s another corker – got me dustin off me rebel mc twelve and giving it a good play today! Keep em coming – another crackin mix here – your mixes always get me tracking down some of the tracks!

Now thats what I call a funked up mixture !!
Had me smiling all the way thru, with quite a high head nodding quotient.
Indeed, a proper house/garden party selection.
Great work Mr ‘scouse.
Thanks again fella.

Ha ha ha, that’s alright Dave.

Brings me back to my beat beat & funky breaks stash that I haven’t listened to in a while…

If you play something like this on the 9th then they are gunna love you!
Top mix dude! 😈
Ha ha ha!! Cheers Tom! It’s more for house-heads that night, but I reckon that I’ll fit some breaks in there somewhere.
Hey, I’ve just listened to this for breakfast. Mmmmmmmmmmm beats cornflakes, I should cocoa !!!!!
Good lad!!! Got a load more either mixed or planned with a load of variety; old skool house, electro house, D&B, funk, african, latin to name a few.

funky, funny and bouncy – nice mix indeed. And refreshing to hear a live mix with no computer jiggery-pokery – it’s all about the old skool!
Cheers fellas. It’s my favourite mix that I’ve done so far, but there’s always room for improvement!!
I like a mix that has some classics and some new tunes, the old skool can get forgotten too easily. As for mixin live, it’s defo a labour of love!!

really liked this….had it in the car for a while…good stuff.
Cheers Solcofn and HDD for the advice. I’ll give that a try.
Enjoyed it from the first second to the last.

Respect…

Really enjoyed that Stu. Some great tunes. The vibe felt like the album that Dee-lite should have made next. Mmmmmm Dee-lite.
