Ah!
I see you’ve found yourself on the box that goes boom…
Very nice to have some propa rinse out drum n bass inside the ride
big up!
😀 😀 😯 😀 😀
The quick motion easily replaces the missing melodies.
Mixing is solid & sound is firm.
I knew about half of the tracks.
Especially enjoyed sub focus, roni s.,& pendulum.Special mention for the visage track.Never heard it this way before.
Nice appropriate cover.
Glad yer here.
Thanks mate, yeah I mix off of a lap top which I keep my tunes stored on. Just makes life easier, does upset the purist’s though. At the end of the day I just like to mix good tunes, that I enjoy listening too. Also I realized that the last track i’ve listed as Konflict, but it’s actually Matrix. That’s what happens when you write a set list at 3am after half a bottle of red wine!!
I’ll have another set for next month. Thanks again for the good feedback!
Drum n bass had its time in the spotlight. It was a brief time, but it made itself noticeable to the world — just long enough to amass a legion of fans to enjoy it without any interruption. Now, drum n bass exist as a “Here I am, take me or leave me” attitude beyond the spotlight.
Then there’s Deadmonkey’s mix, which makes no statements and instead kicks in your doors with a loaded twelve gauge in hand. Right away we’re hit with the mystical yet hard intro of “Konflict”, thrusting you into peak hour madness without any warning. Red Bull can’t come close to giving you this kinda instant rush.
Catch your breath though, cause after that workout comes the warm teched-out strings of “Hold Your Colour” by the current modern DNB champions Pendulum, an act known for fusng nostoligia with pure energy. Strings reminiscent of “I Wanna Fall In Love” kick in with a minimalist beat for the warm “Dub War” mix by Aphrodite to carry us over into
“If I Could”, an solid, bumpin’ production by High Contrast. “Genie In A Bottle” gets completely abused for this set (much like the singer), bouncing into the frothy epic “Frozen Solid”. Roni size is in classic form, shoving us into the peak of this radiant, edgy monster: Top notch drums, foundation shaking bass, and the occasional paranoid vocals.
Deadmonkey’s work arrives at a time when drum n bass needs a healthy infusion at the ‘b0x (if not in general worldwide). This mix is raw, beautiful, and powerful like the iceburg that sunk the Titanic. Whether you’re new to the genre, or just looking for a fresh mix of some top shelf tunes, it’s here.

Yah,that was a good read & very accurate. 😀
Lil bit late with the welcome thing but …
So here’s to you makin’ me listen to 1 hr of D&B, more with about 59 min than I ever listened to before…
Nice one, enjoyed it, although I wouldn’t normally listen to the thing…
Heck, I even downloaded it… who knows, I might listen to it again, sometime in the future…
Welcome to the b0x, m8.
P.S. – the Fade to Grey is indeed a standout tune (might fancy using it myself 😯 ! at some point)
