Gonna be some changes in my next mixes; I need to play some more variety. Got a brazilian/jazzy D&B mix ready to go, with a dub/roots, ska and latin/brazilian mixes planned. I’ve also just done another funk/soul/hiphop mix this avey. Not sure when I’ll post it though!?
Nice one mate. I see where you get the funk in your breaks mixes from with influences like these. I love Ennio Morricone- ‘L’es tasi dell oro’ (Bandini Remix) – not a record I have ever heard before but it sounds very much like UNKLE – ‘an eye for an eye’ (maybe there is a connection or maybe its just me?????)
Top mixing! Mixing records without clear mixing points or constant bpms ain’t easy but in this mix the tracks are mixed tighter than a ducks butt. You should be very proud of this mix!
I LOVE ‘Jungle Brother’ – I like to scratch the scratches and pretend I can actually scratch…(how sad am I!!!!)
Anyway…Top stuff – looking forward to the next installment!
Tom
Not sure about ALL of the mixes being that good, but it was too frustrating to do again; some worked well others not so well, but you’re right that these type of tunes aren’t as forgiving as dance music with the long intro’s and outro’s.
Well I’ve never heard anyone mix ‘sweet home alabama’ that good without the aid of a little editing or a pc – it’s a classic that deserves to be well mixed – and mix it well you certainly did! 8)
If you listen closely ‘Loose Fit’ goes out slightly after a few seconds, not by much but enough for me to cringe slightly…..that was one of the main fuck ups that made me do it again and again! But it was worth it.
this mix is QUALITY mate 🙂 🙂 🙂
some inspired mixes in there and top notch tunage, loved every minute of it! Some of my favourite tunes and some amazing ones i’ve never heard especially beatfanatic and the high contrast stripes remix… fat.
Man I haven’t heard that JBs remix since I used to play d&b years and years ago, made me go all misty eyed
love the drum n bass finish, can’t wait to listen to the rest of yer mixes.
respect is always due for mixing with non quantized live instrumentation
with modern stuff… big up!

Cheers mate, much appreciated!! That’s even more appreciated judging by your mixing ability!!
Got a brazilian/jazzy D&B mix that you might like. The link is on my myspace page. Will post it next month though.
The Beatfanatic album is worth a listen, quite a variety overall, with “Cookin” being the stand out track. I heard that White Stripes remix on Radio 1 (Zane Lowe) and I was totally smitten! Had to get it into a mix somehow, and the JB’s remix is a classic. Got a few other Urban Takover / Aphrodite remixes that could sneak into some future mixes.
Everything has already been written.
One song, one kind of music and everything is very nicely put together, I was amazed too the way you made the transition between Happy Mondays and Lynyrd Skynnyrd.
Nothing but brillant, will burn it to listen to it in the future. I don’t have the time to d/l and listen to every mix on the site, I was attracted by the title and delighted by the content.
That was fun, nice to hear some Python at the beginning and I love the Desert Sessions track. Might do one of these myself sometime – could overlap with yours a bit though, you’ve got loads of my faves on there! And loads of great tunes I hadn’t heard before – nice one! 😀
Really enjoyed this one – especially after half way – kept me in there right to the end. Quite a few tunes that are new to me. Which is always a good ting!
A near-seamless performance.Lovely work on this one with fantastic sound, too.
Can’t tell you how much I like that golden green cut.
All the tracks found big favor with me,tho’.
No probs with the variety, the motion through this is great.
Tremendous cover.
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 8) 8) 8) 8)
Steve, no worries about the overlap it would be interesting to hear what tunes you replaced and how you ordered them in your mix. Everyone should have a Soundtrack!!
Dez, won’t be for a while No.2, but expect some more variety over the next few mixes that incorporate all of the separate elements.
useo8, found the cover after searching through google images with Soundtrack as my keyword…..that turned up and fitted the bill nicely!
great work mr Dangerscouse – been listening on and off all day and found myself absorbed. Hearind the Stuffies again took me back, way back, further than I expected, but you then lifted me up with some bootiful soul and ska (can’t beat a bit of Buster).
great concept for a mix too, the amateur psycholigists must be looking on with interest.

Uploading the D&B mix to megaupload now. I’ll post the link on http://www.myspace.com/dangerscouse23 if anyone is interested.
I always find time to do a mix, especially as my wife has gone back to Uni, so she is studying loads at the moment.
Cheers Tom! Much appreciated.

Fuckin wonderful !!
As said elsewhere, the little segue from the Mondays into Lynard Skynard just made me lol & grin like a fool, whilst noddin me head !
Top selection.
Thank you.
Cheers la! Glad you liked it.
Brilliant Mix and a brilliant idea. May just have to copy that one. (twirls mustache)
Ha ha ha, you’re more than welcome to copy it, everyone should have a Soundtrack of their life.
It’s always gonna reflect the mixer and their taste, and therefore will always be unique.
Krushed & Sorted- King Of The Swingers
Good to see Cape Town’s finest in your mix.. 8)

Have to agree with ReadyBreak … Respect m8.
Now I have to do a ‘Soundtrack to my life’ too, sometime this year. 8)
