Been practicing a lot lately (have to say again – I’m very green at this), and this one in particular was prepared with much more attention (even so i think this was the 10th take at it or something like that … 😯 i was …)
Even so after having listened to it again, i still find lots of space for improvement…
But i am satisfied with how this turned out.
Don’t know what exactly i’ll be throwing at you guys next month… i was thinking that 4 hrs mix, but it is a lil bit … let’s say dark & somewhat alienating at times …
Oh well … i guess still plenty of time to decide .. LoL
tbh my only fault was that the mix was a bit too long.. 4hrs may be overkill and remember there’s a 200 mb mix limit, so quality of the music will be compromised trying to encode it to 128max bitrate. but hey, ultimately it’s totally up to you what you do etc for your next thang.. 😉
I thought the limit was 250 mb…
Anyway it can always be posted as 2 parts (if needed). The thing is im quite fond of this one as of it was done after reminiscing of a not so distant period …
And useo8’s comment (well there were others that appreciated) on it made me think you guys might enjoy it too:
“…Much variety,I loved the soft, chilled pieces,& the familiar tracks like the specials were very welcome. … I turned on the large black light, turned up the volume & was transported.
When it did end,I felt like some great journey had occurred.& I only had tea & toast!” 8)
my mistake! it’s very rare that i enter the main ftp area… i’m going by what’s on the front end.. which’ll proberly get changed when the site gets updated.
Oh cmon mate … i was just pointing out the loose end 😉
I have to admit i haven’t re-read that posting tutorial ever since my first post… then again how many of us do…
As i said, the guys see the info on the server more often so i guess that should up to date as well…
In other news, it’s damn hard work trying to keep up with all the mixes in here… i mean all deserve at least one listen, and there’s just so much time … and i’m actually having some more available as of i’m in medical leave, having knee surgery on wednesday … and still not coping. 8)
The anestetic method’s what scares me more than the surgery … in the spine, out for 6 hrs.
The doc says i can walk out on my own the same day & the recovery is goin’ to be 3-6 days … i could be back playing football in 2 weeks (that’s what he says :?:)
Anyways… more time to practice. 😉
Damn my ears are hurting… I have the Sony MDR-V700 which are fantastic but do have this minor drawback (well besides the bass not being phat enough- which is not that bad) … they do get annoyingly uncomfortable after 2-3 hrs 😮
If a tracklist were a war plan, this one would be world domination; it’s all over the map, strong, and relentless. At first glance, you’ll feel like a 7 year old at the ropes course in gym class. It’s intimidating to see so many incredible (yet often overlooked) cuts on one expertly crafted mix. Yet after a lengthy listen, you’ll agree: this mix is like an asssembly of top dollar parts to make the most sophisticated car on the market.
Isolee’s Crisp beats, spaced-out vocals, and robotic pads are what start you out, which carry well into Trentemoller’s similar sounds before hitting you with a auditory cruise missle: Justice’s rendition of “Human After All”. Bloops, bleeps, and bounce take us through multiple vocal talents, with the energy rising and fading subtly as the set carries on. This is the fundemental formula of Mitzur@’s blistering set.
Sono gets the Depeche Mode treatment in this set, which they owe to Mitzur@. The mix occasionally takes a turn into territory that sounds like Junior Senior with a Casio player (Le Tigre), the yin to the spacey bloop-beep yang. Wez Clarke gets a bassy remix to thump along to, as well as the Infedels effort. In fact, this mix is chock-full of thunderous vocal cuts. As you get around the two hour mark, the synths come in heavy, and you’re in the heart of madness — Iio’s “Runaway” remix knocks down walls much like The Hulk, and then the breaks come in with “Sureshot” to completely level the foundation. When you contact your insurance company, have them bill Mitzur@ for the damages.
Mitzur@’s track selection is brilliant, and his mixing is spot-on — the timing is perfect, and every cut is a standout tune, as well as a necessary component towards the whole. You’d be hard pressed to find a finer set of this length on the Essential Mix as of late. Mitzur@ has crafted a breathtaking soundscape with pulsing energy throughout that makes other electro-kitzch mixes look like Tron on a Betamax.
Damn! mr Vepik just slamed my ass with a review that i wouldn’t have got even if i had paid someone to do.
Even if i wrote this review myself as promo it wouldn’t have turned out this good. mr Vepik … sir … I’m honoured.
How about i point them to all of your mixes.
How about that.
Damn man, that class review just made my day… hell made my whole week for that matter.
You know, there’s still lots of confidence issues over here regarding me & myself when it comes to dj-ing (as of very green at it … and without a very rich musical background before 2 years ago).
So this makes for a fine chunky boost in that department. 8)
So the review’s added… links to your mixes added on the pages mentioned and a link on the main page (here)
Now i don’t have your (obvious) talent for reviews so that’s what i could muster (for the moment).
It’s funny you bring up confidence, my friend. I’ll be honest: I generally don’t know how fond people are of my sets. I”m not even really aware of how good I am as a mixer. all I know is that there are certain sounds I like to hear, certain “journeys” I want to take listeners on, and — dare I say it — certain sets I just want to hear.
I’ve put out some rubbish (Lazy//Sexy 07, I need to retire or replace that…), but I also know when I’ve put out something cohesive… I can just feel it. So as long as you enjoy what you’re doing and follow your own sound, you’ll get yourself some fans and some praise.
So yeah, nice work. There’s some wicked cool records in that extensive set. And I gotta give you props for maintaining such consitency for so long.
Yeah that consistency took me about a month to get to… breaking down the songs in prep, then having many frustrating go’s at it…
Restarted don’t know how many times anymore…
Hell at one point don’t know what got into me & pressed eject on the playing deck & didn’t realized it until there was silence (go figure ) … could’ve saved that one & I got fuckin’ pissed…
At one point I threw out my prep’s and started previewing with mixmeister where was the best place I had to bring things in, that’s how frustrating it was.
Yeah, I knew this one was pretty good, I felt it but didn’t know how much you guys would actually like it.
And to be honest i was lookin’ out for your review (read somethin’ bout u beein’ the reviewer around & such ) in sort of fear …
But enough of me.
Listen away.
It’s back to work.
I must be nuts! (u know it’s 4:20 am over here) 😯
The only people that need to “look out” for my reviews are people outside of the ‘b0x. Have you read the scathing review Peter andre and Katie Price got? Word is, he’s on suicide watch now.
Don’t know it…
but I definetely would like to read it.
In other news, as it seems it’s colaborations’ year & all how about this:
I yousendit (or mail you exclusive links to) my mixes before I post them public (here & multiply) & before anybody else gets a listen, then you make extensive no b.s. reviews on them… which then I use (to better the mix) and/or promo it (whilst promoting the reviewer as well – of course). I’m thinking of having useo8 co-review (that is if u’re ok with it).
Hey, that’s fine with me! I’m all for it. As for the scathing review, it’s under “The Reviews Thread” in the forums. Go read it and enjoy a potential laugh 😉
Have one more proposition… Might I host versions of your reviews on my reviews section of my multiply page … credited of course (I’d have to add links to the reviewed mixes as well – me thinks!) 😈
WoW! What a journey… Hey! There are some VERY nice electroniX in this mix! very nice indeed…. There is a lot of nice retro analog sound in the mix which really hits a soft spot in my soul… A lot of new stuff for me. Smarvilious MiX! Thanks for sharing! Well Done my good man, well done!
I quite enjoyed this.Lots of variety,of a sort,fine mixing & almost half I know & love.
Strong sound employed. The length is a bit problematic as I get less of a specific response & more of an overall ‘feel’.
If it doesn’t crimp you too much creatively,I’d prefer the trad disc length pieces. No foul, tho’,as this is a splendid listen.
Very nice packaging.
Best wishes with the surgery. No worries about the anesthetic.
I’ve been there & it’s more a nervous thing,not a numbing one.
Just relax & have faith. You’ll be bopping around soon enough.
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 8) 8) 8) 8)
Though my surgery has been postponed due to … my grandpa’s death yesterday 😥 … I just … keep myself busy over here & multiply… I’m 😯
So …
…it’s goin’ to be at least one more month of elastic band …
I was not that thrilled anyway about doin’ the surgery here… I think I’ll raise up some money & have it done in Germany (one of my friends that went through some similar suggested…)
My sincere condolences.A loss of your type will take time to adjust to.May the music provide you some solice.
My best wishes with the surgery. We want you up & playing football again right away.Take care. 🙁

20 mins in, and this is impressive stuff. Gotta turn it off for the night now though.
Back & forth from electro buzziness to techno pop & more. Have a sneak preview here
if you want to.
I feel u … i’m allready dizzy with so many mixes still ahead.
I think i’m good for one more then i’m ceasing fire.
😯
this is by far your best mix 😈
Thx bong.

it’s all in the submit a mix link, top right
200mb’s 😉
Ok then. Makes no difference.
Thx for the heads-up. 😉
Should update the info on the FTP server as well … it still says 250 mb for audio, 500 for video and 300 k for covers.
my mistake! it’s very rare that i enter the main ftp area… i’m going by what’s on the front end.. which’ll proberly get changed when the site gets updated.
