good mix matey 😀
Thanks for this one! Very nice & I only knew one track, the tiga. The mixing is vey good. The selection is likewise.
I enjoyed the vinyl-ness.Good restraint on the balance between instr & vocal. The instr gives it a consistency that benefits from the smattering of voices.
Know its a bit corny to say it but, – this mix has a helluva groove runnin right thru it !!
REALLY nice.
😆 😛 😀
Thank you.
Wow! I love it! Funky, dubby, trippy house with a nice change to spacey electro at the end – great stuff! 😀
hello lovely
Good one. cheers hp 😀 😀
Yes, good mix. I was wavering a little on first listen, but glad I persevered – sometimes there are so many things queueing up to be listened to that there’s a temptation to rush through the list. This one rewards a more patient listen. Nice one.

Trippy Hippy is a name and concept that I tossed around for a series name, but I went with Lazy//Sexy because I knew I didn’t have what it took to do Trippy Hippy justice. God damn, getFUNKdup sure as hell did — he nailed it head on with generous ammounts of rhythm, funk, and insane levels of groove. There is a clear understanding and appreciation of any and every element of sound that comes to mind with the term “Trippy Hippy”. That’s right: long story short, this mix has it all, with a helluva housey backbone.
Shake your way into Ray Mang’s “Who Said Dub” with bongo’s and bass before getting caught up in the funk whirlwind of “Unstoppable”. Shake off the tye-dye visions in your head with the mellower sound of “Whok-Tish” leading into the gateway track between “Hippy” to “Trippy”: The Chicken Lips rework of Tiga’s “Far From Home”.
Now things get spacey and trippy but still manage to remain funky with the drums and hi-hats, occasional tamboruines, and other various elements of disco. Shifting from traditional funked-out house to 80’s influenced electro goes without a hitch. The disco/electro segment of “Galaxy 82” through “Tropical Waste” closes this set with an awesome solar flair.
Trippy Hippy is a concept that has materialized in the best form possible. I really do wish this were a series in its own — and I wish getFUNKdup would do it. The mixing is some of the best you’ll ever hear; a trained ear would have problems noticing any iregularities. This mix has a fun, warm, enjoyable attitude throughout the set that is one-hundred percent authentic.
Awesome review vepik 😀 glad you’re diggin the groove. I’m sure I could squeeze out some more spacey disco funk sometime in the near future.
Keep yer ears peeled 😉
