Really enjoyed this. Very smooth transitions between tracks and a strong track selection.
Not so sure about ‘Subculture’ – Im a big NO fan and its not one of their strongest disco tinged records. Having said that it does work in this set really well.
Top stuff Briscoe! 😀
Thanks
Tom
Only in this instance. Otherwise , no.
Thanks guys, wanted to do a 70s 80s styled mix based on the two Bent tracks from their Intercept album, that album was my fave and I felt disco needed another comeback.
Bent – Excercise 7
The Communards – Never Can Say Goodbye
Sparks – My Other Voice
Nina Simone – To Love Somebody (Chris Coco Mix)
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes – Don’t Leave Me This Way (Dimitri mix)
Bent – Leaving Me
Alicia Bridges – I Love the Nightlife
Pet Shop Boys – West End Girls (Dj Hell Mix)
Goldfrapp – Ride the White Horse (Ewan Pearson Mix)
Soft Cell – Tears Run Rings
Depeche Mode – Shake The Disease
Yello – Lost Again
New Order – Subculture
This fairly tanks along at a rate of knotts !!
Good work fella.
My glitter is balled !!!
Thank you.

I too am a big Bent fan. Sometimes struggle to fit their stuff into a mix but this does it well. And of course you can’t have enough Yello 🙂
Great cover,there.
Wonderful set.Never puts a foot wrong. This IS disco! I was raised on punk & once hated disco of any kind, but, now ,I GET it.
Fine selection & production.Thanks.
Thanks especially for the Sparks track.
I just posted a Chronological sparks mix if anyone’s interested.

Yo Briscoe! I have all your stuff. No, really I do 8). When you didn’t upload anything for awhile, I was beginning to worry.
Right now, I’m listening to your old mate, Lemont Blanc, The Second Ascension. Do you know if he’ll post here again? He’s another fave, and I enjoyed your combined efforts. I hope all is well with him.
BTW-you have another winner here. Not surprising though! 🙂
Sorry , been quite busy now with my son and work , and have baby number 2 on the way, so will take on a second job . I may only get in 5 mixes this year. Also, Lemont , has a heavy workload and school , he produces sports radio shows locally, but we were talking this weekend and he had a song he thought would make a good intro or outro for a mix, whenever he gets to it. In order to do mixes now I put off sleep and put my headphones on at night. The good hting is I got an ipod this year, so I can listen to far more tracks and pick out what will work with other tracks more easily. Like when I listened to the Bent album “Intercept”, I automatically thought “Never Can Say Goodbye” when listening to Excercise 7, and Leaving Me sounded like ABBA at a disco/country bar. I also hear hints of Queen and Fleetwood Mac in that album. Right now a fave album on my ipod is the self titled Alex Gopher album, very 80’s indie electronica sounding. A future mix for me will include a Rat Pack sounding jazz/crooner mix with modern artists. Thanks very much for your kind words though.
congrats on the news Briscoe
Thanks very much.
