Thanks very much guys! I was inspired to do this mix when I heard Erol Alkan live @ Trash mix 2005. I have avoided rock and roll for a decade now because most of it sucks, but there is a new crop of rock inspired by dance music that has brought me back to my childhood love. Bands like !!!, Hard-Fi, Bloc Party, DFA 1979, etc. Also, dance producers are blurring the lines as well (the new Ben Diamond) and it’s all very exciting. Had to throw in some old dance punk stuff in as well (Devo, English Beat). Check out the last track by the Sonics, it’s been stuck in my head on repeat for a few months now, and the only way to get it out is with a bullet.

Very good mix. Enjoyed this one loud this afternoon.
The Bloc Party track is the standout for me.

Thanks naz, that means alot. This is the one I punch my fist into the air in my car, screaming the vocals , looking like a fool and not caring. It’s the nose picking afterward that gets the looks from other motorists.

Only got around to this mix now. Brilliant …… that Ben Diamond track is pure class ! I’ll have to look for more of his stuff.
