This title is a cover of the poet Georges Brassens by the french senegalian Youssoun Dour …
It tells that there is no happy love, it doesn’t exist.. (sorry guys)

02 – Maxime Leforestier – Mon frère (1972)

THis song begins with : “You, the brother that i never had, do you know what we could have achieved”
The guy mourns about a brother he never had

03 – Charles Aznavour – La salle et la terrasse (1983)

Our international french guy complains about his miserable life.
He works as a waiter in a bar owns by the girl he wanted to marry but never had the guts to…
A sentence in the song : “I’m a jerk, i’m always a loser, but i’m liked by the clients”
La salle et la terrasse means “The bar and the sundeck (terrace)” (?)

04 – Michel Jonasz – Le cabaret Tzigane (1981)

This french singer is not well appreciated in France because of his “sheep’s voice”.
But i like him very much…
This song tells about the images that comes to him when he enters a tziganian (?) bar…Very nostalgic (as always..for Jonasz)..

06 – Yves Montand – Les feuilles mortes (1946)

Original french song from the poet Prévert and the composer Kosma.
A worldwide hit. Montand is cheesy but has a great voice, and the song is so wonderful. You might know it as “Autumn leaves”.
Tells about a lost love (as always), but no regrets, cause this song haunts him, and is reviving sweet memories to him..

07 – Bernard Lavilliers – Berceuse pour une shootée (1976)

Enigmatic man, enigmatic lyrics, beautiful song. Cause, even if the words are not so understandable, they sound very well…
Bijou means jewel. A sentence : ” I can’t say goodbye this morning cause i don’t feel good, fuck ! : you’ve been so beautiful when you were on your knees”
