Leeroy's..was a night club in Newcastle, Australia (now called mbar) this is the night club that myself and my mates would go to 2- 3 time a week back in 1991 when we were 17-18 years old...it was Leeroy's that opened my ears to dance music. The DJs would play mostly Snap, C&C Music Factory, Black Box etc etc.. to keep the ladies and gents happy on the dancefloor.. on Thursday nights for 1 hour at 11pm DJ Shade was allowed to play his Techno.. this was because the crowd was slightly different to the plumbers and secretaries on Friday and Saturday nights. Thursday was student night so up stepped DJ Shade with his bag of fresh imports and he took me to heaven(or there abouts) for the next hour. This is an example of the tracks he would play. Make no mistake this club was no Shelleys or Hacienda but it was my Shelley's and Hacienda. My passion for mixing and electronic music was inspired by DJ Shade and his hour of power at Leeroy's.
