Now that I’ve “outed” myself, please allow me some indulgences to help you get to know me. I’m probably as old as The Geez, but I don’t see age as a factor in inspiring me to create. I am not limited by a genre, something I share with many of you here. My mixes may encompass every genre, depending on what inspires me.
I come from across the pond in The Great White North of Canada, and Beach Villa Vibes was inspired by my reaction to our wretchedly long winter this year, complete with record snowfalls! I had to put myself in a summer state of mind. This chillout mix could well be subtitled “Dreaming of Spain”, since my jumping off point came from the sun-drenched, hedonistic, retirement lifestyle enjoyed by the Gal Dove character in the film “Sexy Beast”. From there, dreaming of the beaches of Ibiza, and the sounds and ambiance of the Cafe Del Mar, all accompanied by a female muse of course, completed the visual picture.
(Note: I also wanted to mention that the inclusion of the Blues Project track is an homage to the original sun-worshipping hippies that flocked to Ibiza in the Sixties.)
That said, enjoy the mix. Close your eyes and let the sound of the surf take you away….
