Briscoe – Disco Not House mix

I have a lot of disco I’ve picked up at thrift and record stores that sounds more like house, and is representative of the kind of house I like. Too often I get very bored with house, repetitive without a good hook or compelling vocals. Too often house sounds like they didn’t try too hard. No live instruments, no change up in rhythm, etc. I love producers like MAW, Blaze, Joe Claussell, Mateo & Matos, Derrick Carter, etc. because they bring it to another level. Well, these artists brought it to another level, and some of these tracks are known well (Pigbag), and many I’ve never heard in a mix. I never can stick to my own rules, so I cheated with a couple edits that I like better than the originals, and one bona fide house track that never got the attention it deserved (Malcolm McLaren- from one of the best house albums ever “Paris Instrumentals: The Largest Movie House in Paris”). Hope you enjoy.
