This mix is fantastic. Smooth and weird and great. Plus it’s nice to see the Tape Beatles.

Sweet stuff, at least half of it’s new to me but not Eddie Hazel’s guitarwork on Maggot Brain. I had my first ‘experience’ with that years ago while up to elbows in nasty, gray, dishwater at a pizza place in the wee hours of the morning.

To this day I can practically smell the dishwater.

Herr Doktor, it’s a shame about the guitarwork/dishwater association you’ve got because I just love that bit (and I’m no fan of guitar solos), there are parts of this one I’m really into and think ‘Yessss!’ and other parts where I’m like ‘Nnnner’ but that’s the risk you run with such a wide variety. I’m looking forward to going over your old ones in the archive.

Loved this one. HP mixes always have a really great atmosphere and a sense of humour that doesn’t without detracting from the overall effect.
