Enjoyed this, and for the first half I didn’t know any of them. Just show’s ya how vast the world of reggae is, because I’m a big fan of roots, rocksteady and ska.
A dream reggae set.So many faves & all the ones I didn’t know were excellent.I don’t remember hearing a bad reggae tune ever.
The mixing is delicious.Splendid sound.
The cover,of course,is a classic.

Disclaimer: I know nothing of the genre reggea; only by sound alone. I’m a house Dj. I usually avoid reggea sets. I can stand them for a while and then it’s back to the safety net of house music. It’s either a “Hey, I like this reggea tune” or “God this is boring…” with me. Simplistic, I know.
So I took a risk and downloaded this, much like a minor takes a risk doing a shot of 151 on her sweet sixteen. I really was expecting to exhale slowly, skim this through, and move along quite quickly. Instead, I exhaled, and started nodding my head. I did this for about an hour… now my neck is sore and I find myself searching for, uh, “medicinal” merijuana.
The first track eases us into an extensively warm tracklist. Every track has a modernly-produced sound to it, a crisp professionalism that really helped enhance the set. The vocals are unbelievably talented and there is not a single dud in this set. The flow caught me especially off guard — as in, there actually is one! This is a huge compliment to Rollupinmyrizla: generally speaking, a lot of reggea sets come off sounding like compilations; “Jah Is By Your Side” however has an amazing flow. Tracks seque and/or mix as smooth as they come, and segments of the mix feel as though they are one track (“It’s A Shame” all the way to “Blaze”, for instance). Some tracks are harder than others, but the set never comes off hard. You’re in for a treat during the last half of this set: it’s soulful and powerfull reggea that is gonna hit you where you live, such as “Blessings Of Jah” into “After You” that really kept me coming back.
“Jah Is by Your Side” displays Rollupinmyrizla’s skill for finding reggea records that are talented and accessable, as well as his ability to mix them progressivly and cleanly. Noobs to this genre and veterans alike will find this mix outstanding in sound and qualty. I can’t stress this enough: I’m not fond of reggea, and this set is nowhere remotely close to my Recycle Bin — it’s blasting out of my apartment speakers instead.
WOW. just read your comment vepik…
Thanks man! You gave me goose bumps when reading it. Its poetry man!
That’s what makes up for the hours you spend doing a mix – selecting tunes, mulling bout how to put them together and finally mixing them – but it makes up for it a tousand times. This is going to make me continue creating mixes for a long time. One single person in the world experiencing something like you describe above is more than enough satisfaction for me! I’m taking my hat to you for these acknowledgements.

I’ve got a question, I pressed the download button but that opened another internet page is there a way to import this to iTunes?
