Looking good, as usual…….
Matrix Mix 46 – Scattergun (100Mb, 73:02)
Another genre-hopping mix….this one has been brewing for quite a while,
then I got that creative surge and finished it off – which as usual meant
jettisoning several longstanding component tracks, significantly
re-sequencing/mixing and adding some from leftfield.
01. Critical Point – The Beginning
02. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Born On The Bayou
03. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Red Right Hand
04. Ry Cooder – Los Chucos Suaves
05. The Doors – Underwaterfall
06. The Doors – Break On Through (Disse Bootleg)
07. Hot Chocolate – Heaven Is In The Back Seat Of My Cadillac
08. The The – Out Of The Blue (Into The Fire)
09. Adrian Sherwodd – Processed World
10. Bronski Beat – Memories
11. Art Of Noise – Instruments Of Darkness
12. Jane’s Addiction – Summertime Rolls
13. Talking Heads – Life During Wartime (Live)
14. The Clash – Death Or Glory
15. Gnarls Barkley – Smiley Faces
16. Talk Talk – Life’s What You Make It
17. Ali Farka TourΓΒ© – Savane
18. Art Of Noise – Robinson Crusoe
19. Kubb – Mother
20. Farda P – Rockers Outro
A more inventive cover is on its way….

Not sure if I like the idea of my fav Doors song moving into tacky disco – gottta give this a listen – next on my list
underwaterfall.. what a great tune π
Great MiX! I totally EnJoYed this!! π
The The – Out Of The Blue (Into The Fire) WoW blast from the past! Have not heard this in a long long time. Brings back memories! Overall a wonderful mix π Just lovely.
Oh Man! That outro track… WoW! I’ve never heard a remake of this wonderful track. The original is from John Lennon and the Yoko One Band… One of the most passionate songs I think I’ve ever heard… had to check. Yes, it’s from this album here: John Lennon – Plastic Ono Band if you never heard the original “Mother” ~ Check it”!
Thanks for the comments. I prefer the Kubb version of ‘Mother’ to be honest. I got it off some CD on the front of Uncut or Mojo magazine. I think ‘tacky disco’ is a bit harsh on this particular Hot Chcocolate track :D, but their “Best Of” certainly contains some disco horrors as well as the good stuff. Not surprising for a band that spanned quite a few years.
great music on this mix Matrix. I enjoyed it so much the washing up seemed like a good thing to be doing. Strange.
I always enjoy your mixes Ed, and this is one of your best. I love the variety that you put into this one. Cheers.
Wow – Scattergun indeed – what a mixture.
Some absolutely blinding tracks (always great to hear The The & Nick Cave), but I have to say that some of the transitions threw me (e.g. Clash to Gnarls Barkley) – enjoyed listening, but not sure what mood I’d have to be in to put it on next time.
Oh, yeah, and that Outro track definitely does it for me too!
delay?
this delay is down to the host and should change shortly
finally got round to checking this mix out – interesting stuff – some cracking tunes on there put together nicely – talk talk made me smile – not heard that for a long time!
