Hear the sound of a magic tune
caress the night,
awake the moon.
But whose the tear,
the piercing cry
which splits the silence in the sky?
\”Metamorphosis\” – Victor Pasmore.
😎 Hell Yeah…my kind of mix.
The sound seems really screwed when streaming the mix on the page (using the audio button). Is this just me? Happened at home and at work. Anyway, if this happens to people then just download the file….the mix may be twisted, but it’s not as twisted as that audio player is suggesting. 😉
I had that problem as well.
Spookily enough I had just seen the LOST episode where the hatch comes alive and the distorted p.a. kicks in.
I too listened for a while as I thought it was a Matrix mind game!
Anyway, great setlisting…looking forward to listening to it tonight if OK now.
I’ve taken the audio streaming button off, because it’s definitely something specific to this mix – everything else works fine on my PCs, even the only other one on the mixers’ self-upload ftp site. I’d rather people hear the ‘real’ mix.
was working fine yesterday… 😕
excellent mix squire
eerie…like it
Loved it…….nice job 😀
If only I could work out this darn voting I would give this a high mark.
Once again, this is a quality soundtrack to an unwritten film that inspires visions of your own. The Floyd snippets are understandable as this is not disimilar to their early, and best, work.
Nice one! 😀
I am toying with the idea of doing a video mix to this just to give DJ Bacon some competition.
Right up my street. Loved it. 😀 😀
Great track selection, seemlessly mixed and incredibly moody.
Just too amient for my tastes though. Not enough noise for me 🙂
I think it could work fantastically with as a video mix though. Hope you get chance to do it.
Please don’t do a video mix!
I had enough time in therapy after watching some Tool videos, not to mention sampling some of Frankie’s cheese mixes. 😯
Lovin’ this mix! Familiar with most of the tracks.Great job on it! Such fine track selection.Really enjoyed the calmness.
A video would get my support.Bacon’s is one of my all-time faves.I put it on dvd so I could watch it on a bigger screen.I’d love to do that with this set! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 😎 😎 😎
Thanks for all the support. I was actually working on a completely different mix when I happened to listen to The Orb’s mix of Shine On You Crazy Diamond. All of a sudden: 💡 – layers upon layers of dark ambience arranged as a bad ‘trip’ (whether drug-induced or not).
I didn’t want to comment before people heard it, but in my mind it is a bad trip in 3 stages:
1. Weirdness
2. Nightmare/fear
3. Madness
I think it could easily be expanded into a full CD length if a couple more different moods are added….I have already discovered some tracks that would have fitted perfectly. I decided 30 minutes was maybe enough weirdness though.
class mix 😀
Is that the “alleged” Orb mix of crazy diamond from that bootleg trance mix series or Huge Pulsating brain or summat else I need to track down???? Still loving this mix btw. An hour would have done me fine 😉
Matrix, this MiX is freakn’ genuis man! Love it! So many nice subtleties! A true labor of love I can tell. Yoiu do such a great job of mixing in the Floyd stuff. Nice Work! Warszawa was used just right, an ‘ol favorite Bowie track of mine. Always made me drift off to somewhere else that track 🙂 Cheers!
Thanks! Nice coincidence that someone comments after all this time – I’m just exploring ideas for expanding it to a full hour or so. I’ll never be able to fit the tracklist on the cover though…
Matrix, I must share this track with you. This is a particular mix that I spend way too much time on, got lost with it and worked on it forever. But I think you will like it because a worked a lot with a Pink Floyd track from Animals. Go here http://greencheesemix.blogspot.com/ and grab my Green Cheese Vol 22 MiX and check out track 07:
07 – Oldfield-Floyd-Spielerei – Ommadawn Dogs (Tony’s MiX)
—> a.) Mike Oldfield – Ommadawn – Part Two (Excerpt)
—> b.) Pink Floyd – Dogs
—> c.) Spielerei – Out of 2000
EnJoY 😀
Whaaoh mate!! That’s a marvellous selection of fantastic, chaotic tracks just before the dawn. God blessed Matrix and everyone else kiss the bliss!!!
