And highly recommended too.
Cheers guys, thanks for the comments, I’m really glad you enjoyed it as I think this kind of mix is a love/hate thing.
Selecting the tunes was quite a challenge, as many of the ones I’d put aside were just too wierd (honestly!) and even those that found their way in often needed to be heavily chopped (believe me, you don’t want to hear the full version of “Space Oddity”)
Worryingly, that still leaves some unused tunes for a possible future follow-up. My ears are always open, and if you hear any candidates please drop me an email (mrlovely AT collectivedischarge.com)
Brilliant! I think tracks 18-22 are my favourites - I love the ukelele version of Ms Dynamite, it works so well it sounds like it was always meant to be played like that… and the cover of “Pacific” just emphasises what a beautiful piece of music it is… but my absolute fave has to be “Country Roads”, I was lucky enough to see Toots & the Maytals at Lovebox this year, they played it, and it was wonderful… and “Grey Clouds” is just comic genius !
Thanks again guys. From your comments it seems that there was something for nearly everyone in there somewhere. I’m not sure what that says, but it’s a scary thought
Thanks for the Rewind tip Stu, vol 4 has just arrived in the post. Hopefully I’ll find some more “too weird” gems to set aside for vol 3

I love strange cover versions as well, and I loved this mix. All of them are great, but some are better than others, tracks 1-9 were stand outs for me
That Word Up cover is by Willis on the Rewind series released on Ubiquity….if you like covers check them out.
