cheers for posting bong!
the idea behind this was on the big chill forum - listen to the mix without looking at the tracklist and see how many you can guess! It went down well there - so see if you can get a few. If not, just have a listen - its pretty varied stuff.
That was great, apart from “Brazilian Love Affair”, which I’m, erm, not too keen on , but which was one of only two tunes I recognised, the other being “If Only I Could”, I also recognised Aswad but couldn’t name the tune. Smileys don’t seem to be working today.
I went ga ga for the r vincent.I must pick that up.I knew the conti, troublefunk,ap project, wagon christ, photek(yay!),aswad & g duke.Surprised I didn’t know maha orch.I guess I spend too much time playing my enormous zappa collection.
A wonderful experience & thanks for the mystery part.Normally,I’d prefer a playlist upfront.
Now that I think of it,tho. Most b00mb0x mixes I’d play from seeing the name.Lenodd carries weight!

Got that NME Good to Go soundtrack Go Go album that’s got some Trouble Funk on it. Back in the day when Go Go was the next big thing…Must dig it out sometime. cheers hp :D

Why I outta… Just read the tracklist on the cover before reading the comment.
Guess this means I miss out on the mystery element though.
It’ll be good to hear track one again - I’d totally forgotten this existed. It’s something to do with a famous prog house DJ right?

Possibly my fav mix of yours Len. Really enjoyed the variety of the tunes and they all sat nicely together.
Didn’t know many of them, really enjoyed the African and D&B tunes.
July 10th, 2007 at 10:11 am
cheers stu - if you like the african tunes you should buy the nigeria 70 comp - full of excellent afrobeat stuff
July 10th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
Enjoyed this one, but have to confess to skipping some of the jazzier / funkier stuff today (probably just not in the mood for it).
I don’t think I’d have done very well if I had attempted to guess. Probably just BMEx and Sidney Youngblood (from my copy of Now Dance 91).
