Looks great, but haven’t you both posted mixes this month as individuals?
May 19th, 2007 at 7:03 pm
Thought it was ok to post a collaboration as an extra, if not, can you take it down and I’ll upload in june?

Whether its a collaboration or an individual mix, they all count towards your one mix a month.
Not to bothered personally, so I’ll leave it up to Naz and Bong.

Really enjoyable mix, totally up my street.
TBH though I thought that it lost the flow a bit from ‘Flawless’ to ‘Bingo Bango’, and I’m not sure that the Chali 2na accapella worked. (BTW it’s called ‘Cut Chemist Suite’ by Ozomatli feat. Chali 2na), but I’m splitting hairs now!!
The rest of the mix was bang on, and hit the spot in all possible ways. Always enjoy the Collective Discharge mixes, so when’s the next one out???

Cheers for comments stu - Its going to be a while till the next one - need a bit of time to get the right tunes together!

I know what you mean - the energy steps down a little after flawless, but that’s to give you a breather before the end bit!
Gutted about last night - least you didn’t spend thousands getting over there
May 24th, 2007 at 2:12 pm
Yeah exactly, or having paid an extortionate amount of money, then finding out that someone with a forgery had taken your seat and the officials were too incompetent to sort it out.
Ah well, I’m most gutted about the fact that we played better than them for most of the match, but we didn’t take our chances when they arose…..bit like Milan a couple of years ago I suppose!

Been meaning to listen for a while and finally had the chance today. Nicely put together and some great breaks. Cobrastyle is a wicked track. I’d recommend Robyn’s “Girliestyle” version as well. In fact, I’d recommend anything even slightly associated with Teddybears STHLM over the last few years.
Anyway, back to this mix… Two thumbs fresh!

Very, very strong party mix.Really, really big props to y’all!
June 5th, 2007 at 3:58 pm
indeed another good one (rollup = master of understatement)
June 7th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Edward, I always thought I was the only one to still be saying ‘two thumbs fresh!!!’
Adverts seem to have lost that killer tag line of late! My drink of choice - strongbow - has the line ‘total first pint refreshment’ - ok, it has to be said I wholesomely agree with it BUT its about as catchy as the fishermans equivalent to a dogfish……
…..that said - I’m about to get my teeth into this one - from the very positive previous responses I’m fairly sure I will really like this it….
Here goes nothing!

As you may have noticed (or not as the case may be) I tend to keep my analysis of mixes on here fairly short and sweet - but this mix is well deserving of a few extra words!
……
Okey doke, well an altogether cracking mix! As I’ve said before, mixing a set of tunes as varied as these and keeping the mix coherent is never easy, trying to keep up the pace; whilst simultaneously picking only the tunes that you really like and then on top of that, trying to ensure that they do not clash, is an art in itself.
I’d have to agree with the comment about the pace of the mix dropping off before the big finale, however, I tend to disagree that this is a bad thing as It does really set up the last batch of tunes. Possibly the way ‘Flawless’ was mixed into ‘Bingo Bango’ could have been changed, I think at an appropriate moment a cut into a kick drum or suchlike may have worked a little better than the fade mix. Maybe some jiggery-pokery with the EQ’s or something could have made the fade mix work out a little better.
Anyhow, this is a minor minor criticism and you should be very damn proud of this piece! This is the sort of mix I’d love to hear in a small intimate club for sure!

Certainly one of my favourite mixes so far this year for sure!!!
June 8th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
cheers tom

thanks for the feedback as well - this was one of the hardest mixes we did in terms of getting everything on and getting it right. We’re taking a break from the collabs for a while to get some tunes together, but I was really pleased with the result on this - lotsa fun and hopefully good music to boot.

Some top cutting and shutting going on here plus some real tunage. Love the Sub Sub tune at the end and of course the whole Daft Punk bit
June 24th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Very good stuff - I’d definitely slam this on at the next party.
