Love this one, very soul! I can play this one at work without blinking. I’m gonna give it a few spins and come back to comment.
nice one briscoe – look forward to your comments!
Hi Len, lovely positive groove to this one, always a real delight catching up with your soundz & as ever such a well crafted mix! Really love the last track, found it on soundcloud. Hope you’ve had a top summer buddie 😉
Starting off with a strong first track from Latimore, it sounds like the many rare groove/soul mixes until you ratchet it up in beats and bpms. So many classics like Let’s Straighten it Out, What You Won’t Do , Get It Up for Love, Tell Me What to Do, etc, but in a way that stretches them out and presents them in a new dubby way. You keep the soul vocals in there to keep it grounded , and the dubby disco elements to keep lifting up. This is what a mix should do , tell a story and build all the way to the end.
thanks for your ears and the kind words Briscoe and SAT – I made this specially for summer – the sort of mix I could crack a beer open to when it’s sunny and kick back to.
A real treat for the ears. I liked every track, & your mix made the journey a splendid one. I only knew the Boney M & the Gap Band. You never put a step wrong in my estimation. Will savor this more in future. Many thanks for bringing more on. I love it. Thanks most muchly.
Thanks konrad! The boney m and mista v tunes were both from friends of mine, so pleased to finally give them an airing. Thanks for the kind words and your ears!
