Only half way though and this is totally my thing. Will let you know more thoughts when I’m done, but it’s great so far.
Thank you Len! I was going for the techno tracks that are on the fringe, ones that have mostly been overlooked (was listening to the Get Lost mixes and the Joy Orbison Essential Mix – the Tom Ellard intro especially). The Cabaret Voltaire techno trilogy (Intl Language, Plasticity, the Conversation) have been overlooked as IDM instead of house/techno hybrids that they are. Also, Freaky Chakra’s “Blacklight Fantasy” album is a full on techno monster of an overlooked classic. Can’t wait to hear your assessment of the mix.
It’s had my full attention on the tube ride home and it’s excellent. A class combination of techno luminaries mixed to perfection – A great companion to the point zero mix you did.
Plus any mix with ghost dancer on it is always good in my book. Well done, sir 🙂
Thank you very much! I am so glad you like the mix, that it connects in the way I was trying to convey. Red Planet, I remember buying those 12’s along with other UR stuff (Galaxy, Nation, etc) around the mid 90’s at the record store DJ Three worked at (Alternative Records, Tampa), and being blown away that techno could be funky and serious. I had to put in Hawke (Hardkiss Bros), Venus (Felix Da Housecat) and Kenny Larkin, tracks that I’ve been holding on to since the 90’s as well.
The Dexter and vibert tunes are utter killers. I need them!
Magnificent in total. Altogether satisfying. Thanks for the audio thrills.
You certainly display great awareness of fine music.
Thank you Konrad! I’m glad you enjoyed the mix, it makes it worth it when I know other people enjoy the same vibes.
Very nicely done. I hadn’t been able to give it a full sitting until very recently, but good stuff.
Thanks Matrix. I have been listening to djs that have been keeping techno interesting, like Jackmaster, Ricardo Villalobos, Daniel Avery, Ben UFO, etc. I keep looking for tracks that keep it interesting, usually from when I was younger (like the Speedy J – Ginger album, etc).
Superb acid trance disco, sure to be the soundtrack of my summer.
The Kenny Larkin track a discovery for me, lush!
Thank you for making life quite a bit better.
Might I mention the track continental drift by databank as one you might enjoyn (on a fringe techno tip)
