Looks like I put this one up too quickly; I realized this morning that the spoken word parts (5,9,13,16) are way too low. Will fix when back home at the weekend.
Fixed the volume thing. Len, a quick search threw up this:
By the early 1990s, many record collectors had rediscovered the music of Mulatu Astatke and were combing stashes of vinyl for copies of his 1970s releases. In 1998, the Parisian record label Buda Musique began to reissue many of the Amha-era Ethio-jazz recordings on compact disc as part of the series Éthiopiques, and the first of these reissues to be dedicated to a single artist was Éthiopiques Volume 4: Ethio Jazz & Musique Instrumentale, 1969–1974, Mulatu Astatke.
Interesting mix, very atmospheric. Some great music on here, particularly love the Nicolas Jaar track, and the opener from Ruthie Foster which I hadn’t heard beore.
Haven’t gotten around to this mix yet – still enjoying ‘Super Driver of The Golden West’ which I’m lovin’ at the moment, but just wanted to say congrats on 12 mixes in 12 months !
There wasn’t a dud amongst them. My personal favorite was ‘Some Distant Regret’ which was absolutely pitch perfect, and resonated with some stuff that was going on in my personal life as well. Keep up the good work. Know what you do is massively appreciated.

I enjoyed it, lot of tracks I’d never heard before; Thought the second track was the ethiopiques? – soundtrack to my decorating!
