Thanks Matrix! I tried to do a mix inspired by the Bugz dj mixes I’ve heard. I tried to incorporate live tracks with offbeat house tracks. Matias is a genius in the way he makes tracks that break the rules and are fun to listen to. The Nina Simone rmx reminded me of Sweet Smoke. I had to put in another Cabaret Voltaire track because I feel their house/techno phase is so overlooked.
Thanks Len! Always appreciate your input, like to gold seal of approval. I tried to vary this one up quite a bit. The James Hardway “Choco Blanco” (from Moors +Christians) was recorded in Cuba, predating Mala’s Cuban album by 12 yrs. I also have been holding on to Psychic TV’s Rapid Bliss for a while (it doesn’t sound like anything else they’ve done).
Excellent. I Really love the way it blends and bends, seems effortless, but I know it never is. The “Tornado” track has some SUPER BADD ASS Shaft-ness to it. Bugz In The Attic and Mandrill’s Ali Bombaye helped to make my morning bright. Glad I didn’t miss this the sound time around. Peace.
Thank you Warvadal! It’s nice to have an older mix complimented. The Tornado track was a challenge, but I couldn’t let the mix go without it. I love to fit in tracks that on paper wouldn’t work, but make the mix extra fun. I bought the Ali soundtrack because of the corny cover, and when I heard Ali Bombaye, I finally knew where Renegade Soundwave got their sample for Probably A Robbery 12 Guage Turbo mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdBrdCgXrTE

Nice spread of music. The Matias Aguayo track and the Nina Simone remix were the standouts for me, but other good stuff in there too.
