well, here I am again – trying to get the monthly Soul Society mixtapes out on a regularbasis. just trying to slide this “May” mix in before the deadline. hopefully things run smoother in June. anyways – hope you dig it…
many thanks to the dirt_dog for putting my cover together again this month!
I glorious ride man!!!! LOVED this mix! Just loved it! Some very tasty tracks in this bag! Was that a Perez Prado cover I heard in there? Fantastic! Cheers!
This is a serious collection of music – the fact that the whole thing is a year long makes it even better – love the diversity (some much more soulful than others!) and that MIA tune has gone right in my bag. Thanks!
Man, I love your intros – and I always wonder how you get all these samples. With part 5 it becomes more and more a radio play on some people meeting at a hidden place, convincing one each other with their records. Great!!!
Keeping the soul alive! Some great mellow, soulful tunes at the start… I really dug show and tell & please stop your lying. For a first, in this series, the latter parts of the mix took front stage for me, J-5, the vinylcologist, M.I.A…All great stuff. Keep’em coming. Peace.
Haven’t quite got to the end yet but couldn’t wait to comment. These mixes would be awesome even without the samples, which really put the icing on the cake. It amazes me that you get one together every month, it takes me months to get one mix together. There are some particular gems on this one – I love Black Rio, but I gotta agree with Warv, everything from Dub of Fire onwards is amazing :). One question, if it’s not some kind of trade secret, where do all the samples referencing “The Soul Society” come from? Just curious.
hey everyone — sorry for the huge delay in replying… but thanks to each and every one of you for taking the time to listen – and of course, many thanks for the kind words…
@ steve townsend: yes, it’s a trade secret! (nah, they come from an anime, “bleach”).
just finishing June’s mixtape right now… halfway there…

I look forward to any new work you create. The intros to the SS in particular are very popular and are the highlight of my audio month. Thanks
score another one up for the king
