Wanted to make a mix of techno tracks that I like alot, ones that are funky and break the mold. The Nitzer Ebb track has been a fave for a long time, and I’ve never heard this version in a mix. Also, you wouldn’t know the Psychic TV tracks (which are killer funk breaks) apart from their bizarre antics. There was a short time when PTV, Cabaret Voltaire, Severed Heads and Coil made some of the best techno tunes. If you get a chance, listen to the Cabs from 1990-1995, absolutely ahead of their time.
Yeah, those were the times. You bring back twenty years old memories to me – moving in any sense.
yeah that nitzer ebb track is dope. very nice mix. good stuff
Spot on: Future Is Calling, Nice Mix
Top mix Briscoe. This still all sounds remarkably contempory. Just goes to show great music will never die.
cheers hp 🙂
Thanks guys very much! The dates for these tracks range from 1990 to recent. To me, anything from the last ten years is new. Some new tracks blow me away, some sound tired right out of the box. Hate to think of all the vinyl wasted on boring tracks over the years (not unlike all the unwatchable movies produced). I’d love to hear some of these bold tracks played out in the clubs, would put minimal to shame.
A splendid mix.Content is finestkind & your work here is smooth & evident.
Not a lame track to be heard here.
One of my fave recent mixes.
Will def post it as my mix of the week in my mashup column.
I wonder where I can find that ebb track.I’d sure like to mix it some & put words to it.
None of my ebb albums have that instrumental version.
Thanks useo8! The Ebb track is from the Control I’m Here 12′ I bought years ago.
